I've been kicking around the idea of upgrading from the cityx to 1125r. question for former xb owners. did you trade in your xb or sell it out right? curious as to what the dealers are giving for trade in on xb's. |

Sold my Uly outright. When I went into the dealer a few months before mine was due I asked about a trade. They told me to sell it outright as there was no way they could give me on a trade in what I could sell it for. I still owed money on my Uly. If yours paid for or mostly so and what they offer you is fair in your mind go for the trade. Unless you think you can sell it quick. |

I traded mine in. I got what I though was fair wholesale. No lien, so it worked for me. Jack |

Well if you go for a test ride like you have been talking about on the Quick board make sure you take your title and the bike with you. Cause you will be coming back with the 1125R.

Traded mine, they gave me NADA book on it. I probably could have done a little better selling it out right, but all in all I thought it was a fair deal. |

Keep in mind that in some states (like here in Texas), you only pay sales tax on the trade difference. Depending on what you're trading/buying, this could make up the difference from what you'd get if you sold it outright - and you're saving yourself a considerable amount of time and hassle too. |

Traded my XB9 to dealer, 5 years old, 9K, they gave me 4G's. Blue book was a bit under but I paid full price for the 1125 so they still made a killing. |

You can NEVER do as good on trading in as selling yourself. Most folks who trade-in do it for convenience but you're probably talking a $Grand or more difference between what you can get selling in Craigslist, Recycler, Want Ads - and getting a deal on trading in. The dealer has to make a profit on what they are doing - and if they give you what you WANT for your bike, they can't do anything but lose money on it after they prep it and re-sell it or sell it to a broker. |

I traded in my 06 XB12R for my 1125r. Then 3 months later, a friend of mine was looking for his almost first bike. (i say almost because he had an old bike that he rode for some months) Well he went to Harley to see the Buells that I recommended of course, and there she was... my ex Firebolt. They wanted twice as much of what they gave me for it! He he, what they didn't know is I knew how much they had on it. So I went with him and negotiated a bit. He purchased her that afternoon. Well, later I borrowed my ex to kind of compare them. World of difference! I would never go back to her! Don't get me wrong, she is great but there is no comparison. My 25r is more refined and the difference in power! my ex felt slow. |

I traded my 05 firebolt XB12r for my 1125, the xb had 8k miles and pro series race kit installed by the same dealer, they gave my 5k for it. |
