Hi all, Im new to the forum and new to Buell. Ive been riding for 25 years and last Saturday I took delivery of my 08 1125R. This is one amazing machine and gives me a perpetual grin. Saturday Im going to take her back to the dealer to hopefully remedy the low RPM bucking / surging, but other than that this thing flat out rocks! Buell certainly won me over. This looks like a great forum and a lot of polite members. I will give an update after Saturday on any success with my dealer. | ||

Rob: Welcome aboard! After 4000+ miles on my 25r I have found that some of the "issues" with this bike are resolved after break in. The flash did help mine. Smoothness, tractability, and stalling have all improved GREATLY at around the 1000-1500 mile mark. Even more around 3k miles. Enjoy, ride safe. Neil S. | ||

Rob, You CAN learn a lot here - and you will ALSO learn that many of us are JEALOUS of you guys who have the 1125R (some of us are still re-aligning our finances) Amazing machine you have there. I know it's a 2-hour ride but you GOTTA come to the races at Willow Springs on the 3rd Sunday of each month. You can get to see some fun developments taking place on the 1125R out there and there's a lot of fun to be had there as a spectator too watching the racing! Rob - Welcome I find more info here than anywhere else on the 1125R. Been "living" here since I ordered mine last August. Got her in mid-December and can't stay off her. In that time, she's gotten 7800 miles, my '82 FXWG has gotten MAYBE 250. Zack | ||

Hi Rob and welcome and congrats on your 1125R! 6500 on mine and nearly trouble free.. and the troubles I've had, the dealer has rectified while I've waited. You live by one of my favorite roads, the one up to Idylwild! Consider joining the SCAB (Southern California Area Buellers). It is free and we don't do much other than a group ride on the first Sunday every other month and a getogether on the first Wed at 7:30PM @ Knollwoods restaurant at the intersection of 91/Imperial on the alternate month. Wow thanks all for the warm welcome. To answer Blake & Bigeasy, I have a Road King Classic still ( for the wife and I to have fun together on ), and before that I had a BMW K 100 RS and then on and on, 883 Sportster, Virago, V-45 Magna and a slew of dirtbikes as I was growing up. This is what I consider to be my first high performance bike ( although the K100 did real good ). As to what makes it so great to me is I guess for personal reasons. I love the fact that when you grab a handful of throttle it slides me back in the seat and the front end comes off the ground, and it has enough braking power to send me over the handle bars, and in the twisties, well, thats whole different deal for me coming off of a 700 pound Road King, this thing is on rails. So in a nut shell Im a real happy camper, and even happier having a forum to come to and share the experiences. Thanks again for the great welcome. P.S. I stopped by the dealer this afternoon to discuss the low RPM surging. Before I stopped there I called Buell to discuss it with them prior to going to the dealer so I would have something to compare to. Basically I was told a similar explanation that it was a nature of the beast, they like to be in a higher RPM range to be smooth, and the fact that it only has 200 miles on it doesnt help things being so tight still. I am satisfied with this explanation and it makes sense, so given that, I just going to ride it and have fun. |
