Thanks to Zac and others in this thread I made some dampers this morning. See pictures below. Seems as though 1/2" thinwall conduit fits just about perfect in the bars and with 2 wraps of electrical tape they fit snugly. Filled with lead shot and plugged with 5/8" wood doll rod and a stainless wire through the end for a keeper. Throttle side length was 5 3/4" long and clutch side was 4 1/2" Stock plugs were re-inserted for appearance. Fairly heavy so they should provide some good damping. Cost: 1 hour labor as materials were on hand. I'll follow up with results after my next ride, probably Sunday. Thanks again guys for a great idea. I never minded with any bike until now and some wrist fatigue although not nearly as bad as many I have ridden.

Bar end mirrors all but eliminated the vibs in my 11.

Since I rid my stock blurrs right after delivery, I needed some rear view...and the bar ends DON'T blurr at all!

The local police "talked" me into this last week with 4 violations total ticket fees, $150.00...was in testing state, obviously.

My rear view camera system...via modded backup rv style, is not considered legal to replace the factory mirror...per Florida law...

Highly informed officer also enlightened me that any of us riding around with high beams on is illegal and he would issue a ticket for that as well! Guess he supports the charging system thread here! : )

He also said that my Factory 11's exhaust was illegal...until I finally blasted him back that it was factory,,,,for now!

While I do respect the law, this guy must have been abused as a child as he just wasn't right...the above was just the tip of the iceburg of that one hour ordeal.

My sister and her husband are officers in Ohio, my home town...and I have lived/worked in Florida for the past twenty years so this should not be a question...just a bad day.

Moving on...

Had to machine custom bushings to close the i.d. as the mirrors expanding guts didn't fit properly in my 11's ends...but I'm satisfied with no knumb hands now after the effort.

FYI, the bar end mirrors don't even come close to a pound of weight and only cost 59.99 high retail...

Was going to try the bar snake that Baggermike recommended a month ago but this mod was the same price and since have moved on to other mods...

Another idea if you just love those factory mirrors...is to add buckshot in the tube to quell those high freq vibrating hand jobs! : )

Ok - really stupid question: how do you get the factory bar ends off?

I cannot post picks here but the bar end mirrors along with many other mods will be uploaded on our new website soon.

It is surely against badweb rules for me to "advertise" here at this time.

Thanks, m&m

well, I just received these;

I got the 17oz version. Good price, lightning fast delivery(one state away) and I'm going to install them now to test out in the morning.

I don't understand the science behind these bars (Nickcaro's link). They reduce buzz but I don't think that's really the issue. The issue is throttle hand from holding the throttle in the same position for long rides. Can someone explain how these help throttle hand?

If the numbness is due to high frequency vibrations, then the bar end weights can help. If the numbness is due to hand/wrist position and pressure on nerves, then you can try other things, like crampbusters, bar risers, or simply shifting seating position.

the weights from hvmp do make a huge difference, I no longer feel the buzz in my hands after long distances at cruising speeds.
I alter my hand position to take care of cramping and also alter the starting angle of when I grip the throttle. Kind of like the opposite of what they teach in the MSF safety course. I'll twist my hand forward before grabbing the throttle, so that when I twist back, I'm at a more natural position.

Ok, thought so. I do the re-positioning thing. I put XB handgrips on and that has helped. Bagger gave me a link for some bar ends so I'm gonna try those out too. I also think if I bend my elbows a bit that helps. An adjustment from the body mechanics from the XB to the 1125. Used to riding with my arms mostly straight and now I have to remember to bend them occasionally. Go figure...

Nickcaro- How hard was instillation? How long did it take?

Could you throw up a picture so we could see what they look like on the 1125. Thanks!

installation is very easy. I used vise grips to pull the plastic caps off. the weights are then inserted and you tighten them via the allen nut on the end.

Nick, I was wondering based on the size of those if they have any effect on the aerodynamics.

Just kidding they just look a little too big and wonky for my tastes...

FYI,

Your gloves may have something to do with it. I have 5 pairs of sport gloves, Buell, Harley, Joe Rocket, Icon and Cor-Tec.

When wearing the Icons, BOTH hands go numb.

When wearing the Harleys and Rockets my throttle hand will go numb.

No prob with the Buell gloves and after the Cor-Tecs broke in, no prob with them either.

Nxtr, they look big when they are the sole subject of the photo. When you look at the bike as a whole, the bar ends don't seem so obtrusive.

I have the Throttle Meister's and they are big. Those things are huge! Be careful, you could decapitate small children.
