Fres, with Erik being a racer of old. I'm certain they will see this and report on it big time. There's no way they can ignore this. For their sake as well as ours.
I certainly expect Fuell to put this in the summer edition. The 1125R for a podium finish against liter bikes! Hell, we were just hoping for a top 10. Podium!!!
"A few months ago, there were people here ridiculing the idea that the 1125R could hang with a GSXR when an anonymous poster suggested that might be the case."
Most of you guys sound like a bunch of bickering women. I remember awhile back when most on this forum were saying they'd never ride a Buell with liquid cooling, or double overhead cams. Now, the 1125 is the best bike in the world? No thanks, I'll let you women have at it, while I ride my XB.
Fandango. You sound like an TROLL. What's the deal? Who said the 1125r was the best bike in the world? Stay on the XB board if you are so disappointed at the racing success of the 1125r. Why piss on the parade?
As the niggles seem to be working themselves out, I am tending to agree Pariah. It really is a true pleasure to ride. I think the lone issue that I will have is the heat generated. Sitting in traffic at any temperature above 90 becomes unbearable.
At least there is the potential of some variety of manufacturers, configurations, and sonic enjoyment. Instead of only the high pitched whine of the Matt & Ben show.

No, I'm not AN troll, I'm just amazed at the maturity level here, or lack of, I should say. I was considering getting an 1125, but looking at the data realistically, I personally feel there are better bikes out there. Yes, I know, there are some here who even believe the 1125's are faster than the IL4's and that's exactly what I'm talking about. No troll, just trying to sort out objectivity amongst the BS here.

Historically, into, around, and out of corners that is often the case.
Lately there's been sporadic reports of fairly stock 1125R's around the world having top ten finishes in various classes...a few of which are premier classes.
Define fast.
I can tell you with some certainty that I'll never own an 1125R...have no need for such a beast...but that doesn't mean I can't get excited over a Buell woopin' some ass.
Bye, bye Fandango. You are a fountain of knowledge. I suggest you re-read what is being compared. The 1125r in a straight line will not be faster than a IL4. The 1125r on the right track has the PROVEN capability to be faster than literbikes. See the Canadian Superbike results. Looking at data is one thing, looking a real work results can often be quite surprising.
I think the 1125r is just starting to surprise the moto world.
Just as I expected, YOU attack me, yet it is me who is the problem, when I try to substantiate my points??? I'll go away and sorry I ever came. You guys are about as knowledgeable, open minded and objective as a retarded child. Keep believing your 1125 is the baddest & greatest, while the rest of the moto world laughs out loud at you. Immature children!
PS. Thank you for helping me to emphatically make up my mind. There's no way in hell I would buy an 1125 now, if for no other reason than the type of people who ride them. I may as well buy a Road King.
no wonder my 8month old son and I get along so much.... Don't let the door hit you in the ass, Troll. Frankly, Glad you aren't in the market for the 1125r +1, couldn't have said it better myself!
I do have to say with the 1125 being in the class with the 600 I-4's and 848, Buell will KICK SOME SERIOUS ARSE!.
We've seen what it can do against the liter bikes the rest of the motorcycling community raves about and they will be desert!!
ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, I really believe this is THE best street bike built that I have ever ridden. Not really race oriented but doing well enough already, not stop in your tracks beautiful, not really for touring, just a GREAT all around ride. Thanks Erik. I'm riding and in the wind more now then ever. Bob
It's so obvious now why CW decided to do the head to head between the 848 and 1125R. For the controversy. I bet they've sold a ton of magazines to both the Buell and the Ducati fans who normally wouldn't give a flying flip about the mag.
The bikes are born from two totally different schools of thought. The Ducati is made to be an ultimate tool of an experienced rider sacrificing everything for a slight edge on the track. The Buell is designed to be as rider friendly as possible on the street while still delivering superbike performance.
It really struck me when I was searching for info on the 1125R and read a couple threads on Ducati forums. Man, lots of Ducati folks pissed at the review, and every one of them bought the mag.
