Dood, that is too funny... I made it through the test drive, but met my friendly State Trooper about a week later... Good to go after taking the safe driver course! Jack |

They should have sharpened the angles and used some of that aircraft radar absorbing material on the bodywork so they can't lock on to it easily. Maybe for '09? |

LOL! I have been soooo close to a ticket a number of times since this beautiful machine landed in my garage. Honestly, at least one time I have to believe the stealth was enabled since I blew past a trooper at a hair over 100...I saw him at the last minute and he was looking right at me, but he didn't even pull out after me. |

But officer, it's a test ride, I had to "Test" it. Now imagine if he blew thru any red light or speed cameras only to find an additional charge listed on his paperwork at purchase. 1125r ______ sales tax ______ tags/title ______ Flying mile tax ______ candid camera tax ______ |

Thanks for the comments guys. I was going 72 in a 55. The officer cut it to 65 in a 55 though. Not a fun day. In my honest defense I was merging into traffic and was not looking at the speedo. Needless to say the bike feels like its going slower that it really is.

Oh and I took the picture when both cops were in the 2nd car behind the first one (hard to see), I don't think they saw me. But who cares I at least wanted a funny story out of the deal. |

God isn't telling you to not buy the bike, he's just providing you with a moderately priced speed verification service. Its all good just need to see the up side of things. |

OMG thats funny but sucks, i had a few close calls yesterday when i was ridding with a buddy but luckily a fellow biker coming the other direction gave me a heads up on the speed trap which saved my ass. |

I can hear the conversation in the patrol car . . . . "Gads . . I think it's one of Jerry's kids". Wait till you get 3 in the same day in Ohio . . . AND talk your way out of them in court. You Father and I are pros . . . don't try following us.

so wade, do you remember when i told you that the same stupid behavior you get reamed for when you are young gets different results when you double your age? a state boy (i mean boy because he was young enough to easily be my son) stopped me today on 446. doin' 66 in a 55. ran my license, found six points against me, and only gave me a warning. said he was concerned about my safety and asked me to slow down and enjoy the rest of the day !! most of getting older sucks, but being older than the cops sometime helps. so far all of my tickets have come in the car, and involved no fun...kind of a waste. all of the warnings have been on the moto, and have involved LOTS of fun. go figure............... |

Got my first ticket "first for this bike" on the way to get my first service done. 68 in a 45 Deputy didn't site me for reckless driving because I had no points on my license. It cost me $171.... |

1700 miles with the tag from my old Firebolt on back, paper tag in the "trunk". Go to the DMV and get my tags paid for, all my ducks are in a row. 10 minutes later I'm in the same boat. "unsafe passing" and "failure to signal". "Unsafe" dropped to "defective headlight" when I paid it. |

This weekend, driving to Dallas from College Station Tx., in a convoy and the trooper pinpoints me out of the middle. Passes up everyone at the tail to get to me, pull me over and wrote me out a nice little ticket. 82 in a 65. Even tried the old, "Hey, I was a Marines to" bit, but of course it didn't work since he had a brand new boot camp with him. I guess he has to lead by example or sum $h1t like that. Anyways, just hoping the judge allows me to take defensive driving. |

Yeah, we see you Hwyranger, thats exactly what he was doing cause I never saw him coming up. It was dark and you know how good those mirrors are. To make matters worse, I was on my way to see my bro who is a cop there in Dallas, so I told him the story and he laughed saying its the bike, makes you look like you are going faster cause its bad a$$. Not liking the troopers much right now. Texas that is. |

Vincent, if it's any help, a couple months back "Ride Texas" published a Top 10 of the most cop-ridden routes in our state... Wow, only 82 in a 65... I do this routinely mainly to stay away from tailgaters and have a nice space cushion around me. Guess I better watch it around College Station... |

Yeah Takis, they arent to bad here in CS, got pulled over the other day and the cop just wanted to talk about the bike. I usually try to stay ahead of the tailgaters as well but this guy wasnt hearing it. I chalk it up to him not being a rider. I got the ticket on 45, and Im sure that it is at the top of the list. Within a mile where I got busted there were 4 other people pulled over. |

Yeah, it's a real funny story from our dealerships point of view too. Especially the fact that Wade was also charged by the Indiana State Police officer with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended drivers license. Real fuuny. |

Ouch!!! What happened to the policy of signing a release and photocopying the driver's license before a demo is permitted? Or, is that just PA dealers? |

Long story short, I was unaware of the suspended drivers license until the nice officer told me about it. I would not have been out on a test ride, mush less my own bike if I had known about it. I am sorry if it caused a 'scare' or created any issues Jeff, it was not my intention. |

That is our policy too. A signed waver and a copy of the drivers license with proper motorcycle endorsment is required for every demo rider. Unfortunately, we have no way of checking with the state to see if a license presented to us is suspended or not. When a license is revoked the State of Indiana mails notification to the operator. |

I guess that is an ‘apology not accepted.’ Spreading slander on the internet about me by insinuating I am blatantly lying about the situation is insulting. I was wrongfully flagged for a defensive driving course by the State because of paperwork mistakes by a county I got a ticket in. I was told by the state it was resolved and I did not have to do the DD course. Mr. State Trooper informed me my license was suspended due to not completing the DD course... shame on me for not being more thorough with the State and paper work issues. |

We all know the ineptness of government, unless they are sending out our tax bills which they are very good at, so I believe Wade when he says he did not know that his license was suspended. The episode was just an unfortunate situation. We will continue to offer Buell demo rides and in the future I am pretty sure Wade will be welcome to again ride one of our bikes . . . after first getting back in the good graces with his friends at the Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles. |

"Spreading slander on the internet about me by insinuating I am blatantly lying about the situation is insulting." I guess I missed that part. The only thing insulting is the fact that something so serious, from the dealerships point of view, was posted here as some big laughable joke. That was an olive branch in my previous post and it still stands. If you have anymore to say or wish to discuss this further stop by the dealership and talk to me. My door is always open. |
