Am I the only person who'd be interested in something like this?
I call it the Buell 1125ST. A fully-faired, touring-ready version of the Buell 1125R. I think it'd kick butt on the ST1300, FJR1300, or Concours14. Or even give the BMW K1200GT a run for its money. There's a big market out there for a bike like this, and Buell really doesn't have an entrant into that market, the new XT version of the Uly notwithstanding. |

i think that the motor from the 1125r in a uly xt frame would work about the best. |

i think that the motor from the 1125r in a uly xt frame would work about the best. Probably. But that would've been too hard to Photoshop. |

I dont think your gonna get that motor in a XT frame....And after riding one(1125r) you wouldnt either. Nice photochop though! |

I'd rather see it move to a harder core track bike. At approx. 25mpg, I'm not interested in it for a tourer. It's a great engine chassis. |

Mike, Mike, Mike, I see a 1098 in your future! Nice work on the 1125ST, great photoshop skills. Maybe the Givi V35 bags would be a little more in tune. Later Neil S. |

I think a factory ST, with the bags mounted as in your illustration, would require more wheelbase. The bike is already prone to wheelies. Load those bags up, and add a pillion - might be very difficult to keep the front wheel on the ground... Jack |

With some different cams and tuning Buell could probably easily make a touring version of the engine that gets excellent gas mileage. Of course there would be a hit to some degree on the performance numbers. |

As much as I love that engine... I think the 1200 lump gets better gas mileage, has less maintenance, is simpler (for repairs), and is easier to find parts for (for repairs). The Lump gets my vote for the sport touring engine. The 1125r gets my vote 100% for the track engine. |

Hey guys the new ulysses went from a 3 phase 495 watt 38 amp charging system to a single phase 405 watt 30 amp charging system, I would think the new xt would have the 3 phase system, it is advertised as a sport tourer and then they put a less powerful charging system in it? I would really like to know why they did this. Mike |

Amps that don't get used burn up VR's. They eat horsepower as well, but not enough for you to notice. |

Reepicheep do the older buells have problems with the charging system? just want a heads up because my son has the 06 uly so he has the 38 amp charging system. Mike |

Put that fairing on the XT and I'll pony up my downpayment right now. I agree with Mike. I like the thunderstorm powerplant. I hope Buell keeps it around as long as BMWs Boxer. |

Put that fairing on the XT and I'll pony up my downpayment right now. Well, come to think of it...I would, too. Actually, I'm thinking real hard about doing it anyway. |
