Two Buell's , I was admiring your photo's of the " kick ash " cover , it looks like the area around the fuel cap is screened , don't know if you've riden enough to tell or not , but do you think it effect's the ram-air from kicking in ? Are you worried at all about getting sucked down those 61 mm throttle bodies ??? I'll bet you can really hear them now !!! |

ThurstonBuell, the screen should not effect the ram air as the top air box cover is sealed and it also doesn't look that exciting under the clear cover since the air box cover is solid black. the Firebolts's you could see the air filter cut outs. EdmBueller, the Air box cover, seat, tail section are all the same size as the XB's I installed the traction grips last night, you need to cut a hole for the bar ends or not use them. For my hand I thing the Traction Grips are the best out there. All my Buells and even my 4 wheeler have them. and at 14 bucks a pair you can't beat the price. |

Two Buell's.... So if I understand correctly , the air box itself is a sealed unit under the cover ? And your using a kick ash cover , it appears black , does it in person ? |

the ram air is sealed so the cover has no affect on it, I also think that the ram is only good if you are going really fast, I also am thinking of getting the kick ash cover but also was thinking of taking the inside air box cover off and doing some lighting in there, I like how the filter is right in the middle and I could spray it with glow and the dark paint then use a U V led light under the x thing on top shining down to light up the filter. Just a thought, and I have many My bike will be a work in progress, I plan on keeping it for a long time so I want to customize it. for now I want to just get the bike set up for safety and comfort for the riding season. I also hope Buell or someone has a big bore kit for the bike by this coming winter, if I have the motor out to paint the frame I also could do the top end at the same time, if I do not get the frame powder coated I could alway get it coated by rhino liner, I had my bagger coated by a spray can bed liner and got a lot of compliments but was not tough like rhino liner is and would also give me grip like the tech skins, the place I have powder coating done will not do gas tanks, I guess they had one explode and now will not do one even if it has been cleaned properly. Do you have pictures of how you modified the Uly mount for the Quest? I have my Uly mount still but have not really taken a hard look at fitting it on the 1125R. |

looking at the mount I took a 2" high and 1 3/4" wide square out of the bottom left corner. I used a air cutting wheel. The 2" high horizontal cut needs to be aleast 2" or the GPS will hit the fairing mount at full left lock. you should be able to make the 1 3/4" cut a little less (maybe 1.5" to have a little more metal left on the mount.

Cool I will give that a try, beats buying a different mount when I already have this one. The accessory plug is up front someplace, correct? Thanks for the pic. |

my accessory plug was dead, I tapped into the running lights for power. |

Did you check power at the Acc'y plug with the key AND kill switch ON? It only powers up in that mode. Kill switch OFF or in PARK mode, no power. My heated grips are plugged into the Acc'y plug and Kuryakyn LED Voltmeter is plugged into the grips' piggy-back Acc'y plug. Z |

I installed a set of the black milled Throttlemeister heavy on my 25r and noticed a big difference in vibration, especially in the bars. Anyone else felt this or am I just dreaming and my bike is just breaking in?
You can find them here: http://www.throttlemeister.com/ Neil S. |

Hi Neil it is the weight of the throttlemeister, I have seen bar end weights just for reducing handlebar vibrations, I think dark horse is making something like what you have but with replaceable sliders on them, I am not sure if he has them yet so I am waiting for when I start touring to see what they come out with or I will be buying what you have. Two Buells - ordered my garage opener today - where did you find a good spot on the bike to install the unit? |

Well the T-M is 3 parts in one. Bar end weights (btw I went with the heavy version), bar slider and, a "cruise control". Since they are made from SS they hold up VERY well in the slider roll. Later Neil S. |

I like the look of yours so I think I will put them on my list of things to buy, next month I got a custom led tail light and a custom top tree, I hope to have the bike done in may and then just have to just worry about gas money. Mike |

Two Buells, Thanks for the diagram. When I first looked at the mount to see if it would fit when I got my 1125R I never even thought of cutting the bracket. I tried my air cutting tool but hardly made a dent in it. Ended up using my cheap tile saw with a diamond blade.

I might have to get an external antenna for the GPS though. Not getting stellar reception under the fairing like that. |

EdmBueller, I mounted my Taiddan door opener under the fairing above the left High beam with double sided tape. Where did you order your opener? Mine used to work fine on my Uly. But when I mounted it on the 1125r for some reason I can't get it programed. The LED lights up and it is transmitting a signal but I lost the instructions on how to program it. Taiddan is out of Business. I searched all over the net for instructions. I have a Sears rolling code opener and the remote used to work fine. I tried everything! |

Krassh, Your GPS looks good. Quest 2's are pretty cheap on eBay and I think I'm going to get one. I also use My Buell Quest on my ATV and its pretty beat up. When I get the Quest 2 I might just switch the Buell cover and button! I just ordered a external Ant. I'm going to mount it under the windshield towards the front. http://cgi.ebay.com/GPS-Antenna-for-Garmin-i5-76CS x-12XL-2610-60CSx-Quest-2_W0QQitemZ120234451129QQi hZ002QQcategoryZ58044QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem |

Thanks for the link, I might still order one. Took the 1125R for a ride today and the GPS worked pretty good. I think it was the trees around the house. Yeah I like the Quest 2. I paid to much for it as it is the Harley one but purchased it when I bought my 2007 Ultra Classic. Have mounts for all but the KTM Super Enduro but will be getting one for it soon. I might even pickup another Quest 2 for spare. At $180 not bad. |
