Was supposed to pick up my new 1125r and say goodbye to my beloved Firebolt today. Just got a call from the dealer. The battery that came from the factory was dead. The tried a tender for a cpl hours, ZERO charge. Then they swapped the battery for a new one. They killed the battery trying to get the bike to fire.... Are they missing something? They have 2 guys that just got back from 1125r training so they should be capable, no? I am starting to get concerned that I am getting one with the rare but troublesome electrical gremlins... |

I am one with those electrical gremlins and just dropped off my bike yesterday and will see if buell takes care of me this time, probably be in the shop for a week but hope less it is my only ride and have already had it in the shop for 3 weeks before, I think Buell is trying to take care of me this time and I will have facts to report when done, it will be fixed and I will have an awesome bike, Mine might have electrical problems but runs like a swiss watch, starts up first time every time and it has been cold, so you can wait for me to get my bike back which should be no more than the end of next week, hopefully sooner and then I will have facts to post about the electrical system, I got towed once by a guy who towed bikes for his business and I asked him which make of motorcycle breaks down the most, He said they all do. pick up the bike, My 1125r was Buell # 7 for me since 1996! other than the broken kick stand on my Uly, the last two XB's I've owned have been perfect! No problems at all! |

Thanks Two Buells I actually I broke the stand and thought it was my fault, I was climbing on by stepping on the peg and broke the bolts and then made a mess trying to get one of the bolts out so when my son buys the bike I will have him bring it in, I hated the kickstand on the ulysses. Mike |

I used to mount the Uly the same way, until I was standing on the pegs when the stand bolts broke. I went flying! I got more flexible and started to swing my leg over to mount the bike. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/182430.html |

Yea mike that was a recall for the Uly Kickstand about a year and a half ago. They should take care of that for you. |

Interesting. - I never thought of using the peg to mount a motorcycle. I guess inside I never really trusted the kickstand to hold me and the bike up. I have short legs and it's a tough job to throw my leg over the saddle of a Uly. If they have strengthened the kickstand of the new bikes I'll have to give it a try. |

Edmbueller, My 1125R came in January 18th and was started a few times while on display at the dealership. When they went to start it so it could be delivered a couple of weeks ago, it was deader than a doornail. They tried to trickle charge it overnight but nothing, they replaced the battery and it's started fine since. I think Buell got stuck with a batch of bad batteries, that's it. |

Hey old man that is how I broke mine and hopefully I can get it fixed right, it is hard for us old me to get a leg over and if it were not for karaty I would have a even harder time. Mike |

Ok Gearhead but they put a fresh battery on and killed it dead trying to get the bike to fire...are they missing a step in the uncrating process...ie. turning gas on, something like that? |

I had my fuel pump lock up and the bike would not run, I read on here how to start the bike and you have to crank the motor over with full throttle a few times and then close throttle and try to start the method is on here some were, Mike |

They ship with the "mains" fuse pulled and in the tool-kit. The 1125 floods easy, especially at first. Crank the throttle WFO, kill switch ON, key ON for 5 seconds. Turn OFF, wait 3 seconds and turn on the key again for 5 seconds. Turn OFF, relax the throttle, turn ON and push the button. Don't touch the throttle. Pretty sure that's the process, don't have the memo handy. Zack |

Zac, you should be working for Buell from all you know. That's almost as easy as checking the oil. |

mine flooded ONCE when it was new. I didn't know the procedure. So I treated it as I would any other piston gas engine. Opened the throttle and cranked it. It fired right up. |

Quick question about the 1125r: I read or dreamed that the 1125r use T-30 instead of T-27 Torx head fasteners. Is this true or, was I just dreaming? I just want to be prepared. I'll run over to my Fastenal dealer and pick up some good bits for my Sunday delivery. TIA Neil S. |

This is not fun and hope someone from Buell reads this. I bought a 97 lightning that vibrated to much and had parts break, I went back to Harley's I bought a new 06 ulysses in June 07 kickstand breaks in August oil pump broke October and took over two month to fix, bought Buell 2002 blast with 6000 mile and said runs great for year and miles and had many problems, bought the 1125R in December and have had electrical problems since then and now is in shop again wheel bearing just broke on the Blast plus all the other problems it has had just went to take the ulysses out of storage to put back on the road because of the problems I have been having with the other bikes and there is a pool of oil at bottom of the fork leg, all the oil looks like it drained out W.T.F. is going on I have had misery ever thence buying Buells Do the Buell Gods hate me? I feel like they do, or maybe I got the Buell curse, everyone please pray to the Buell gods for me they do not like me so pray for me please and tomorrow when I wake up all will be good and this is just a bad dream Mike |

Edmbueller I do not hear my clutch at all, in fact the motor is quiet and maybe it is my hearing because I can not hear the fuel pump either and the other buells I could. Mike |

I remember when I first got mine it sounded like a Panhead with an open primary. It's either quiet now, or I got used to it. I'll go out and start her up and listen. Z |
