What would you change? I think the Buell riders tend to make "drastic" modification more than any other marque (which is ironic because I think Buell's are the most unique to start with). Now that the 1125 is here, what do you want to change the most? If you were a stylist at Buell, where would your pen meet paper? |

I see an 1125r in the semi far future maybe a year or two,(I never buy anything the first year it comes out) but the first change would be getting rid of the pods now that theres a full fairing in the works.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a higher wattage output at lower revs for "attachments" if possible. Other than that I like her as she is. I hope her design doesn't change too much by the time I can afford one. |

PLEASE tell me that the bike pictured above is a photoshop. Makes no sense whatever to replace 140W of illumination with the pitiful stock Firebolt headlights, losing the bigger "Quiet Zone" fairing, etc. How much more weight are we adding for the extra plastic? CF? Interesting bike, but I'd leave it stock. (Message edited by 86129squids on January 28, 2008) |

It's cold here in Colorado, so I've made a few mods. 1. Removed the DOT rear end, replaced with XBLights integrated tail run/stop/turn/license w/ clear lens and a custom rolled 14Ga 304SS License carrier and 1/8" polished Aluminum plate, hand beat/curved to fit hole in undertray. 2. Removed passenger pegs and struts, replaced with contoured Aluminum bar to attach tailbag straps. 3. Polished inside, flat black outside - heatshield. 4. Added black plastic sheet over the wiring in fairing that is visible thru the windscreen. Also added a blue 2003 XB9R model(1:16 scale diecast) to show Loretta's heritage. I did all this after i put the "options" on, consisting of (1)Buell heated grips, (2)Buell tour seat(Pegasus seat) and (3) Tank Bra. Favorite mod? tossup between the grips(priceless in the morning) and No.1 above. Robert Hall at XB Lights made me a beautiful taillight - Thanks Robert. Zack |

Already done: XBRR tail section, hi heat black heat shield, LSL footpegs, satin black shift and brake levers. In the works: painting lower section of fork legs to match triples, fabricating plate holder and jap bike tail light bucket w/integral turn signals, CF undertail and airbox cover, satin black kickstand, custom seat, tinting windshield, black highlights on wheels. Waiting for bellypan before choosing paint scheme. May put on a Braking rear rotor and build some black brake lines. I contacted CRG and they said no dice on levers, so thats out. The 1125r seems to be excellent the way it is stock but I can see some changes happening to mine. I just don`t think that most of the things that I have listed below are going to be very practical. Self canceling blinkers would be kinda nice. Slightly more of a bubble on the wind shield with a shelf so I can cram just a little more crap above the speedo. I also might want it blacked or blued out. Longer stems for the mirrors so I can see a little less of myself and have a little better hanger for my helmet. Modular / matching detachable saddle bags with locks. Some sort of throttle lock like the fx and xl bikes have. Not much but a slightly louder pipe (wish I could drill the baffle like you can on the HD bikes). I`m afraid that if I get risers for the bars that I may never be able to keep the front tire down but I think that I`ll get some anyway. Plate mount (kinda like Zacs). |

Belly Pan!!!! When you see the exhaust D&D made for me you'll see why. It takes up little space compared to the stocker so the bike looks naked down there. |

Im putting a belly pan on mine once i get it painted and i finish making the mounting hardware. Other then that im going to leave it stock. If some really nice high end performance parts come out and i can beef up the HP ill go that route. Im hoping for a complete turbo kit. |

Hey Darkice, I`ve been considering a turbo also since I ordered mine. If you find someone to make a kit for the Helicon be sure to let us know all about it. I wonder how much cutting and hacking it will take to stuff one on it? I`m in no hurry though. I think that it will be at least 3 or 4 back tires before I`m going to want one. Hey Brad, Good call on the fuel gage. |

Wow Z you are really pushing the limits of your fuel consumption. Its too cold for me to be pushing my bike. I would push it there is no way i would leave it on the side of the road. I fill up closer to the half way point hehe. |

i started talking to a place a few months ago about turboing the 1125. they are fairly interested. they just want to learn some more about the new fuel system first. there is no reason that thing shouldnt make some really good power. there standered vrod set up is getting about 147 horse and 114 pnd ft of torque. |

lol yep, after i molded, filled and sanded the removable piece to the undertail i coated it with bedliner. i figured why waist time with a nice smooth paint job under there, its going to get a beating anyway. |

i guess i should have posted a pic of it with the hole in the tail! i kind of didnt think about the fact that not everyone has taken the license plate mount off theirs or even seen one. here is what it looked like after i chopped it but before it was smoothed. in you can kind of see it anyway, the discoloration where it is a seperate piece. man, i dont even know what direction im going with this thing, lol. i just kind of stare at it and think for a bit every night. i have a few ideas, but not sure what one i am going to go with. i will atleast have it some sort of together for march badness. assuming i even bring it. it still only has one mile on it so if i can bring it and the 9 i will, or if i can get it ridden some before we go. it'd be nice to have some time to sort out the suspension first. here is a couple other pics of the tail from another post. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/333413.html?1201627383 |

Oh man that 1125 with the Firebolt front and fairing looks sick! The pods look well integrated there and I still prefer the look of the Firebolt fairing, all function aside. Now that is what the bike should look like. Did I miss the thread with info on that bike? |

Well now as I look at it a little more it looks kinda PSish. I didn't read the rest of the thread btw. |
