I read somewhere here that BMC doesn't sell units numbered below 100. Well High Country H-D/Buell got their second and third 1125r yesterday and, behold, one was numbered ...000090. |

I know what you mean Bob. I was just going nuts waiting for mine! On the the hand, it was very much worth the wait. Almost a month and 1800 miles later it is still a surprise as to how good the bike is every time I go riding. I'm in LA. |

Am I correct that the sequence # at the end of the vin code would only effect those bikes in that sequence from block 4. The California bikes being an L instead of a D would start over at 100 or where ever they start. Any bikes made for overseas sale would get one of several other sequences. So its quite possible a couple thousand have been built buy now. |

I would doubt that the "versions" will have a different sequnce of numbers more likely that the numbers are not influenced by 49 state or Ca or Euro models. that way each unit has a unique "number" and I have had my deposit in since middle of July........................too long of a wait if BMC was to ask me....but that won't happen will it |

>>>.and I have had my deposit in since middle of July What does your dealer say? Bear in mind your dealer and BDC, not Buell Motorcycle, are the two parties involved here. Make certain, to bring about change, to lodge your dissatisfaction with the dealer. Just a thought . . . |

dealer is well aware of the situation, and it is not the dealers fault. my initial delivery date was early November '07...pushed to December...pushed to March January delivery stayed put...I am getting that one Court....if it was just that "every" dealer was waiting for the "first" bike....no problemo but when dealers are waiting for the "first" bike, and other dealers have received many bikes......that is what is hard to understand and swallow.....there really is no explanation that will remove the feeling that deliveries were not "planned" very well don't get me wrong....I thoroughly enjoy my XB9SX.....and expect to as well with my 1125R.....Buell makes an outstanding motorcycle! But when I have repeatedly put questions here on the forum about deliveries, and Anony chooses not to respond.....well, not feeling the love there....I am just "one" customer out of thousands....yeah I get it, but I don't have to like it (Message edited by bobup on January 16, 2008) |

>>>But when I have repeatedly put questions here on the forum about deliveries, and Anony chooses not to respond..... I think there is a misunderstanding. Buell. . . the MOTORCYCLE company. . . sells the bike to Buell DISTRIBUTUION when it leaves the plant. Buell DISTRIBUTION (a completley seperate and distinct group) handles shipping, allocation, dealer realtions, marketing, market research and forecasting, website and a host of things. I'm not trying to be a smart ass but Buell MOTORCYCLE has NOTHING to do with shipping, transportaion or logistics. The first thing I gotta do before you squeeze off a round is get you pointed in the general direction of the target. Your dealer. . . you know, the one that gets your cash the moment they sell the bike . . . should be communicating your discontent. I'm not sure all the stories we read on the internet about distribution were quite accurate either and some folks got spun up without cause. . . I'd be sure, and know you have, to be talking to the dealer. |

>>>Anony chooses not to respond..... By the way . . . there are a host of "Anonymous" posters. ASSUMING any given one of them to be anybody is unwise. Furthermore, in view of the fact that some folks have lost their great jobs for participating on websites, the idea that someone is going to acknowledge a post from this, or any of the myriad of Buellcentric websites, is a really long shot. There have been discussions as recently as last October about "what kind of liability do we incur if we even acknowledge." I don't need to tell anyone here it's a really dynamic topic. The BUELL DEALER is ALWAYS your first point of contact. |

well....now I am completely satisfied...not so distribution is handled by a corporation of 3 (goolged em) and is owned by HD....so I just became a smaller number to them, somewhere around 1/10,000,000+ roughly. This still does not discount how distribution is uneven. you say complain to the dealer....it is not the dealer who distributes either. besides, my words don't get heard any further than across the counter at the dealer....on this forum, they get heard 'round the world. Okay. Someday . . . your therapist will ask . . . "how do you know what number went to what dealers?" and you are going to have to answer . . . I heard it on the internet from a guy named BuzzBomb3. It was confirmed by SpeedySaab in England". Of course the next question will be . . . did you do anything to resolve your chagrin. Don't put yourself in the position where your answer has to be . . . "why of course, I complained to Anonymous" Again . . not trying to make light of your situation, but you see what I mean. Of course, if it were me, I'd have been on the phone with the President of Buell Distribution (ever wonder how I first met those folks?) and had an answer. I tend to be very irritable that way. |

do you see it from MY point of view? there have been postings here WITH PICS of multple units at various dealerships. tell us, how many units HAVE been made to date. How many dealerships are in the continental U.S.A.? lets say that there has been 8, 5 day, weeks of production at 25 units avg. per day. that makes 1000 units.....I'll bet there is fewer than 200 dealerships in the USA, but let's use 200 as number of dealers. that comes out to 5 per dealer. so whre are all those units? I don't know anything about how BMC, BDC, and HD do business. Nor should I HAVE to. I did talk to the dealer. They don't have answers. I posted on this forum. I have had NO answers until today. You probably read my previous posts. You are just TODAY giving out information that I could have used 1-2 months ago. Thank you. as I was typing this up my call came through. #892 is being prepped and I will go get it in a couple of hours. YAHOO !!! Court...y'all can go back to ignoring me again LOL |
