Just informed my bike is getting called back (before I have even seen it). Anyone gotten word of this? Wondering if it's all 1125r's or just some. |

checking on H-Dnet.com provided no information on a recall and the Service manager just looked perplexed as to why I thought there was one. |

Maybe they've gotten a new and improved belt design? |

Not sure what the story is. They weren't told why, just that it was being pulled back.. Hoping some one on the inside can enlighten us? |

Maybe they've gotten a new and improved belt design? LOL We need an over under/pool on the number of 1125 belt revisions. |

Wonder what the story with my dealer is then. Just a bad choice of words maybe? I'll give them a call today and try to find out the story. |

Ease up bob, you will kill yourself over nothing. It's a new bike, and there WILL BE RECALLS and killing the messenger when it happens will not do no good, It was a simple question. |

I heard from a reliable source (well, he was drunk at the time but he said he KNEW a guy who used to work at Harley at one time) - they were ALL being recalled due to an unforseen effect when the Chinese made packing tape used in shipping becomes wet, and if you swallow the drops, it has hallucinogenic properties. Tell you what, cut your losses, sell ME your ll25R today and you won't run the risk of ingesting this toxic material. I wouldn't have a clear conscience knowing I had the chance to save you and kept silent. Sell it to me, it's the least I can do. |

Ask what for, could simply be something got goofed up when it was uncrated and getting set up, could be someone at the shop punctured the radiator, (could even be someone put oil in the radiator not knowing any better). This is a new bike, similar but different than what some shops have dealt with before, and requisite to that specific training is required to set it up correctly if the set up person isn't familiar and comfortable with the configuration of the bike. Must be fun to be on the manufacturing end of this and having to deal with stuff like this thread. I once had a "friend" start to fill the engine with gas in a car I had. I had the hood open checking the oil, he was talking to a girl with the gas nozzle in his hand, he was distracted (to put it mildly) and removed the oil filler cap and stuck in the gas nozzle. I noticed this about the time he pulled the handle to let the gas flow, a swift kick to his hind end with my foot got him to let go of the nozzle lever. I needed to change the oil anyway. Stuff happens. Facts often come later in the discussion. I suggest we hold any speculation until the facts come in. |

Sorry everyone, looks like the choice of words my sales guy used was not the best. He was informed they where holding back the shipment of the first few bikes, (something we here on badweb have known for awhile). He took this as a recall (which it wasn't). I talked to him about it, (gave him the update that anon had given us) no worries. Bad news is my bike won't be here anytime soon. Hope all those out there with their 1125r's are enjoying them enough for all us who have to wait. |

Nate (C4bird), if you want one right now, even with the winter weather, South Valley HD here in SLC area has one on the floor, three more coming in before Christmas, and four more due for in January. They are good people to deal with and its about a 5 hour drive down I84 although you might be better waiting for your local dealer. Bob |

Thanks Bob! Kinda on the fence right at the moment. Not sure if I want to get one right away now. Had my money down in for a few months and have been told it would be here the next week every week for a few weeks. Looks like my dealer isn't even in the first wave now (they told me they would be getting some of the first), maybe a drive down to SLC is in order. |

There is a recall listed in Motorcycle Consumer News Jan 2008. Latest Recalls Make: DUCATI Model: 2008 Hypermotard Summary: Battery can move side to side inside the fuel tank mounting compartment. Consequence: This movement could result in main wiring harness damage at the battery terminal, causing an electrical short, consequently stopping the engine. Remedy: Dealers will install a battery mounting bracket and two double lock Velcro strips on the bottom of the battery. The manufacturer has not yet provided and owner notification schedule. \moral sanctimonious outrage on My god! How could a manufacturer ship a defective 2008 bike? \moral sanctimonious outrage off |
