First impressions:

Great event. Great atmosphere. I'm still blaming the factory for bring the cold weather here though.

1125R impressions: FREAKIN AWESOME! Clutch on 2 bikes was smooth & easy as butter. Slipper action was flawless, even after I intentionally tried to upset the rear end. Brakes are of the 2 finger variety, ergo Yosemite Sam says, "WHOA!" No issues noticed with heat on the feet (although the high today was ~65). Vibes were not an issue, even after purposefully revving into the 8k + range. The power is so smooth & linear that it would be very easy to bite off more than you can chew, since it gives you THAT MUCH confidence.

The only niggling thing I don't like, and I know they're pre-prod bikes, but the muffler looks ugly. Easy enough to fix via a belly pan and/or aftermarket exhaust though. Otherwise, the bike looks exactly what it is meant for, to put the rider in full & complete control of a monster machine.

The overall good news is that 2 the best of my knowledge, no one crashed any of 'em away today. We had some folks try their hands at offroad riding, I'm blaming that on the Uly influence, but 2 the best of my knowledge, no one went down today, so overall, a good day.

I was there as well riding the black tuono in intermediate. By far the best trackday I have ever done. I came away very impressed by the 1125r. I noticed the ~9k buzziness on bike #24 but not bike #2. Go figure. Other than that the bike ran well. The front brake and slipper clutch were what impressed me the most.

i had a great time at Cresson. i must be used to the s1 because bike 24 felt good to me. i rode #3 without a number and the only issue on it was the throttle cables had a little too much slack. impressed with the power delivery and brakes!! i'm a lot happier about having put down a deposit in July. great trackday run by a very professional and accommodating crew and sponsored by a group of companies that are willing to put their money where their mouth is. thank you Buell!!!

I too was at Cresson. I was really impressed with the 1125R. But should have did another ride or two. As I am a quick intermediate and a slower advanced and was on an unknown track it made a complete evaluation difficult. The first time out in the advanced class on the 1125 was me and two 'white plate' racers the lead Buell guy and the chase Buell guy. As I was falling behind the chase guy was more interested in me 'racing' the other guys than evaluating the bike. Probably can't blame him as I'm sure they get tired of the typical slower paces. Thus I didn't get to have my brain slow down so I could evaluate the nuances. But I will say the bike is fast and feels really light (a good thing) in the corners. I didn't have time to notice vibration, if there was any. The bike handled really well and pulled strong from 'rattling' RPM to redline. Didn't have the John Deere feel of my 12R but still pulled really strong. The next session I dropped down to the intermediate group. they were a little slow, but allowed me a better chance to absorb the bike. As I can't afford a $12,000 dedicated track bike, I'd like to try it on the street. I have a XB9SX for street and an older 12R for the track.
Anyone know if the XB and 1125 wheels are interchangeable?
I highly recommend the 'Inside Pass' Ride the 1125 at least 3 times and enroll real early!
PS: The pictures don't do it justice! Very attractive!

Smoke & Rhun,
Didn't get a chance to ask who the BadWebbers were while I was there, and was looking forward to meeting all of you. Having said that, there weren't a lot of "non-Buellers" there either.

My wife & I had a great time, and it was the best $200 I've spent in a long while

The only other "complaint" that comes to mind after I've sat back & thought about it is again with the muffler. Specifically, that not only is it UGLY, but it's QUIET! I could listen to the wind all day through my helmet on that bike and never seem to hear the exhaust.

psquared,
i was in the advanced group on a black and white ratty S1W #222 with a loud force pipe in the morning and rode my orange /yellow/blue sv in aprilia body work in the afternoon. i tried to sign up for 3 rides on the 1125R but the girl said 2 only. i should have signed up in the intermediate group also for extra track time but i was plenty tired after the day any way. i had thought about putting my badweb handle on the back of my helmet on a piece of duct tape but forgot to do it.
see y'all next time

Hey guys,

I can't say enough about what a great job Buell did managing the day, the food, or getting to ride the 1125R (bike 2). Normally, it takes me a while to get comfortable on a new bike but after a lap and a half, I realized later that I no longer thought about the bike. It was that easy to ride. That is until I out-braked a friend going into "Little Bend" and lifted the rear tire off the ground!

Angela (my wife) and I got to make new friends and hang out with several old ones (pun intended!). All said, it was the best track day experience that I have had.

I hope that I get to see you guys again in January if the H-D dealer's meeting is in the DFW area again this year.

Keith

Rhun,

The answer from the Annony was that the wheels are exactly the same as previous S/R wheels. They are interchangeable.

That is one of the cool things for me about adding an R or an 1125R/S. I already have two sets of wheels. Adding a bike or two will simply give me an extra set of wheels to work with. You could even throw one on stands to give you a third set for an extra long track day.

Thanks ft_bstrd. they looked close, but you never know. I was quite impressed with the 1125. The bike I rode had kind of a loud whine, most notable when not moving. Sounded like a wind whistle through the helmet and changed pitch with RPM. I thought it was somewhat annoying, but can't recall it much on the second bike I was on. Either it wasn't there or I was used to it by then. Anyone else notice this? Maybe after the mufflers break 'in' you won't be able to hear it. : )
All in all PTT and Buell did an excellent job.

Anyone know what happened to the 1125 with tranny issues? I heard one had problems from Raceworx. Was this a previously wrecked bike?

The 1125R was a blast to ride at Cresson, the bikes power is so smooth and linear, it was the best track day I ever had. Good Friends and outstanding Instructors made this Buell trackday so much fun.

This 1125R is so smooth in the clutch and transmission setup , I never missed a shift. It is the nicest V twin I have ever ridden, good luck to Buell on a great bike.

Smoke,
Actually think I'm pretty sure I saw you. You were the S1 next to the bldg we were at if I'm not mistaken. There was the red, white & blue XB9R, then the Ducati, then us as you worked your way out from the bldg.

My wife was on the blue XB9SX and I was on the white X1. We were the 3rd "group" out from the bldg w/ the trailer and GMC Acadia.
