Couple of things, the mock up does look good. You do have to remember a few things.

First one is that the front end looks better in person. The gap between the nose piece and the scoops is much more visible in the direct side view AND the relationship between the two pieces is determined by wind tunnel work to allow enough air to both keep the engine cool, minimize drag from the radiator and keep the radiator heat off the rider as much as possible.

On the tail, all the stuff you took off has to remain to meet regulations. The after market will make part to do what your drawing do and they will be no more legal. Not that anyone enforces these rules but that is going to start happening.

The nose is big, like the XBRR or the Ducati MotoGP bike. This should make it far more aero dynamic and thus faster than less aero bikes with the same HP.

The muffler is a preproduction piece and I anticipate that it will be a little smoother when it is finished.

the bike is a few months away from final production trim.

.. .just wanna say i'm definitely not discounting ANY of the hard work the Buell team has put into this bike. simply tweaking the styling based on my own personal thoughts.

crazy excited to see this puppy come to life!

'The nose is big, like the XBRR or the Ducati MotoGP bike. This should make it far more aero dynamic and thus faster than less aero bikes with the same HP. '

I agree 100% with you. I was thinking the same for the similarities of the Ducati GP7 and the 1125R.

BUT at the motoGP race in ASSEN, Stoner complained that the fairing of the GP7 in that particular race was TOO BIG, and the strong side winds affected the cornering of the GP7. He said that sometimes the side winds pushed the bike out of line and he was loosing the front end.

SO, sometimes a big fairing is not a good thing. And since the 1125R is going to be ridden on the street, and in many situations with side winds present, and since we do not have Stoner's abilities, maybe making the front fairing closer to the bike is a good idea. For sure the bike will look better.

But anyway, I will buy the 1125R, SINCE YOU DO NOT SEE THE BIKE WHEN YOU RIDE.

Also I expect the bike to be SO GOOD, that other riders will see the rear end of the bike, not the front.

All of this just shows the glaring differences in the Buell motorcycles from inception to the pictures floating around of the new 1125. I mean look at the tuber in your garage and then look at the 1125. What a long strange trip its been...

Love the mixing that Typeone did in that third picture.. Looks awesome.

But would prefer the blending with a high nose /windshield. I'll never race - So a more rider friendly air protection.

I like that one the best so far. I bet it would look good with the stock tail section as well, since it flows better at the front now.

I say get rid of the radiator pods before this happens to someone you care about.

Some posts were saying the bike needs a belly pan; looks like at least some of the prototypes have one:

BP 1

BP 2

BP 3

It'll be interesting to see if the production models have it or not.

Loving that Dutch rendition. Hell if we are gonna build a superbike, lets go all the way, there are other bikes to keep the line up partially naked. Nice styling and complete clean lines. If I had the money, that would be in the garage, (in orange of some shade of course)

The belly pan looks much better, although you may find that they put one on to enable them to track test the bike.
A lot of tracks and all race organisers will not let you onto the circuit without a belly pan capable of catching all the fluids should they make a sudden bid from freedom.

I think the first version of the 1125R that we have been shown is the 'cooking' street version and would bet that there will be a more radical Sports/Track model to come : ) Possibly this is what the 1125CR refers to in another thread?

The radiator scoops are the only thing that bother me a little. They are YOU-gly in the pictures but I may reserve judgment until I can see a bike "in person". Their function sounds great but if they continue to bother me (after I've bought the bike) I may take them off and see if there is a noticeable difference in the coolant temperature and in the heat that reaches me.

Who knows, in the winter, the extra heat could be a plus?

How about dropping the mirrors down to the lower corners of the fairing to make them look less antennae like. Or hang them out in the breeze but blended into the fairing to look like hand guards. Or something else.

Please help this eyesore as best you can. I think it is the only ugly thing about the motorcycle. And I thought the stock muffler on my s3 was ugly. I'm buying one anyway but now's the time to fix it. Thanks, Frank.

Don't know if it will change BUT you don't notice it on the bike.
