Spatten1, Did I not read that the 1125r makes 84 lbs at 8000 rpms.. and the xb12 makes 84 as well more like 3800 rpms?? Plus both of these amounts are NOT at the rear wheel...??? Now what I said was IF on these new xb cases one was to either put the xbrr 1340 jugs and pistons on them.. which will probably be available ..Lets say they are not then even put a set of the Rev`s Performance 1450/1500 jugs and pistons and with abit of work NOW I have been told by many that this wd. make easy over 105 lbs of Real Rear wheel torque... Now do you not agree????? wd. ya rather have 84 and a real say 75 or say 105 Real rear wheel torque??? |

wow! 2 foot pounds of torque!! thats LOADS of torque! too bad the 1125r doesnt have loads more horsepower, its only got like a couple of clicks more. nothing important. |

And Yes even with the say 100 or 105 xb rear wheel torque the 1125r will still smoke the xb in horsepower, but the fun factor with the torque is much better than the horsepower of the 1125r.. IF I wanted horsepower damn I wd. have bought a Duc. or if more than that one of them JAp O thingies... People buying Buells for the past 15 years have not been buying them based on the horsepower output correct me if I`m wrong??? |

im sorry hogs, i completely missed that part. ya you're right, an xb12 with mods will have more torque than an 1125r. too bad 1125rs cant be modded as well. i dont know why erik buell designed them to be impossible to do any performance mods to, or we would have a totally uneven comparison between modded xb12s and modded 1125rs. so anyway... so youre point is that a modded xb12 will have more torque than a stock 1125r. ya, well guess what, a modded mustang 5.0 will have more torque than an xb12!! ha! take that! what's your xb12 got now?! <----does the humpty dance |

Well Cheesm, You can take your old Rusty Mustang, and watch my Tail lights go by when I blow your doors off in my Stroker 383 Lt1 Impala Ss.... Yea I guess you have done the " Humpty Dance " So tell me Why the 1125R does not have or won`t have as much torque as the New Xb cases with a big bore...??? Perhaps the 1125 does not lend itself for that? As I said Torque rules and the 1125 with its 70 or so RWTorque at 8000 rpms, does not compare to the xb12 with a set of big bore jugs & pistons on it...say 100 RWTorque... I don`t know which part of that you can`t understand...Unless you know something we don`t know about the 1125 now ??? But IF your into the horsepower thing top end speed then I guess you win... "For Eric to drop the Basic Roots of his bike ( sportster engine )especially on the 25 year anniversary and to throw another engine in his build from some other co. that builds the engine That this is no longer a buell in My mind,.." A mind is such a terrible thing to waste. I guess you missed the FACT that the very FIRST Buell bike built was powered by a Square-4 TWO STROKE motor. Erik's AMA banned racebike, they had to change the class rules to disqualify it. I believe that is the 25 anniversary that is being celebrated, it was still several years later before he built his first streetbike with the sportster power plant. I guess the HD common factor there might be the the italian motored HD 350cc and 125cc Rapidio, but now we are reaching back to HD lore from the early 1970's and the 1960's and yes I was there. HD sold at least TWO two-stroke street bikes with made in Italy motors. That was the motor I was hoping for, a 500cc two stroker in a light chassis. Wouldn't the "black chappees" just HATE seeing me at their poker run? i actually like my so-called "lump" it has great characteristics for street riding. Nice and simple and pretty reliable in mostly stock form, but heck it is 2007 why not move on up? About 50lbs lighter too than my XB9S. (Message edited by CurtyD on July 12, 2007) |

About 50lbs lighter too than my XB9S. sure its lighter, but an xb9s with turbo will have more power than an 1125r!!! so, ya, im on hogs' side on this one. |

Actually probably isn't 50 but about 25 or so pounds lighter, but with TWICE the HP and a rev limit at 10.5 K, Should be FUN, even just tooling around town at "55" to save gas money, right? |

105 foot pounds of torque ***at the rear wheel*** ??? For what, a moped? Thats a fairly pathetic amount of power. Peak torque only matters if you are riding a bike without a transmission. |

I'm pretty sure that my Uly with the HP modifications will make more whatever, but I'm certain that it will grenade in short order due to the mods. I can't even imagine how much heat would be generated by that rear head. Huevos al Carbon! |

Hogs, I'm with ya a bit, but that new 1125R engine looks to be pulling strong from down low too, so I wouldn't discount it's torquey fun factor just yet. Ducati tuned their 1098 for top end and got 160 HP, but the low end suffered. So you can say that Buell in the current state of tune for the 1125R gave up around 15 HP in favor of improved low reving performance and a smoother torque curve all around. I don't see from the photos on www.Buell.com that the decks of the XB cases have been raised, so we won't be putting any XBRR jugs on them I don't think. Maybe for '09? I'm a huge fan of the air-cooled engine models, and am thrilled to see Buell make such significant improvements to them this year. The Buell air-cooled lineup is likely to continue on for a long long time. The new 1125R and future kin will open up an entirely new market for Buell. Market expansion is good. More market share is good. Buell is good. It's all good. |

Buell has stated time and time again that he builds motorcycles for the STREET, so of course his engines are tuned for the low end. Wouldn't take much for a talented tuner to retune that new engine for the track and make it a genuine Duc killer, I'd suspect... |

Hi Blake, I`m glad your with me abit.....:-)I new I could count on YoU.... Yeah I was just trying to get a point across on these new xb cases,as You say 2009 may show something different there, all and all looks like these cases are a step in the right direction.... Just a little piss I guess all this talk about the 1125r seems like all are ready to ditch their Xb`s... Wouldn`t be me not in a long shot....Yes throw a set of them Rev`s performance 1450/1500 jugs and pistons and a little head work/cams and HOLD ON... I hope this new Fuel Injection system is the cats Meow.... Still think with these mods the XB old series with New cases etc. will be alot more fun factor when it comes to Torque atleast the same as the 1125 or I think will be Better.... Yeah its all good...1125r for the track yeah.. who knows we may still see the xbrr come around as well...Fingers crossed |

I love the torque of my XB12Ss and think it is a great street bike. But with that being said, how is my street motor much fun on a summer day after a few traffic signals? Mine pings like crazy and would think that any of these modified XBs are even worse in traffic. That is why I have my deposit in for the 1125r. Isn't this great to have a brand that offers all of these types of bikes and not just one? |

Now will the 1125r have to go up against this: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/sear chresults/Bike-Reviews/Ducati/Ducati-1098S-2007-cu rrent/?&R=EPI-22624 |

Now will the 1125r have to go up against this: ya but an 1125r with a freer breathing intake system, larger injectors, better mapping, more aggressive cams, freer exhaust, port and polished, bored and stroked, replaced with an 8 liter v12, would totally smoke that 1098! but ya, the 1098 would be cheaper in the end, but IF your into the cheaper lower price thing then I guess you win... |
