Don't know how I missed this the first time around... sorry if it was covered here before. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/bmw/2009-bm w-g450x-review-82228.html The short story? Claimed 245 pounds, 450 CC, street legal, electric start, Ohlins, constant geometry chain drive. Nice looking bike. The article mumbled something about "can't reveal a price due to exchange rates" that is clearly BS though... just give us the price in Euros and let us do our own guesses at conversion. If its a $6k bike, thats a home run. A $8k bike, decent money for a decent bike. $10k? Another great BMW that costs too much money. Update... I see $8k quoted from a google search. And it looks like it is made in China. So it's really cool, but thats a danged pricey dirt toy for us working men... So when do we get to see the $6k Buell competitor to this thing? | ||

think they will race it in super cross, arena cross, or any giant mud pit for the X games?.... I bet we will see the Hyosung SM before the Buell rendition. | ||

Motor Cyclist Mag Aug. 08 has a great write up on it. I like it and I agree, Buell should have built this bike first. Amazing sometimes..... | ||

They almost built it, hell they almost bought it, they lost on two accounts The bmw is a reworks Husq that bought the dirt bikes from Cagiva, which was just bought by the Mother ship, six months too late... so there you 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon with a side of road dirt. We will see the Hyosung DS/Sm before the Buell. | ||

Sorry I beg to differ . . . Hopes and Dreams of a 'real v-twin' Dirtbike were fulfilled with the Aprilia SXV and RXV. Fastest bike at Pikes!  23 seconds faster that the closest 1200cc!!  This is the bike Buell should have made. | ||

6K? Never. I doubt Buell could offer a competitive bike at that price. I think most of the Japanese competition in the 7-8K range...for dirt only models. I'm very tempted to just get a DRZ400SM and mod the crap out of it until it rips and looks good. If my credit was any good I'd be doing it now. | ||
