The Buell Motorcycle Company reservation site is up and running. Looks like the sx starts at just under $18k and the Hammerhead starts at just under $19k. No other models listed. A reservation is $25, and is non-refundable. |

Not all of us are handy with tools. I'm not going to spend that much money on a motorcycle and not have a servicing dealership within a convenient distance; I don't care HOW much I want the bike... |

Considering this is Buell things are getting even worst. |

Court, that's not a BAD thing. Today's motorcycles seem to require a degree in advanced nuclear physics and practical dark magic in order to service... |

The price should reflect lack of technology but I don’t see it. I’d like one but I’m not going pay 2022 tech price for 2009 tech. I can live without the tech but I’m not going to pay for the same price. Still looking forward to seeing the adventure version though. |

For that price they better have a program in place to dispatch a technician to my house whenever I need service... |

Technology makes things cheaper. The only reason the old stuff is cheaper nowadays is because of they do not produce it anymore. If they would produce the old Buells nowadays they would be significantly more expensive than modern motorcycles because of old technology is more labor intensive and consumes more materials. They may be better off focusing on the adventure market. That’s booming right now and a lot of riders in that field are just as happy to have a bike without all that crazy tech. |

I was looking on Facebook Marketplace yesterday and it turns out they’re even advertising on that. |

I hope Buell (LAP) has a lot of margin in the pricing, I don't see them selling enough volume to keep themselves afloat. |

Put in for a hat and a Hammerhead on November 1st, 2021. No response to this day from them other than acknowledged the order and a number assigned to my request. I want the bike as rendered originally in yellow, black and silver, without the newly added juvenile black stripes that separate the yellow and silver. We shall see what evolves but I am not breathless at this juncture.

I am wondering about their maintenance support strategy. It sounded like something they were looking into. |

So what was your “out the door” price? |

Johndd and Figorvon.... Frankly I could care less about their repair method because anywhere one goes they can always get a mechanic with one bad day, yours. Luckily I have bought my bikes at an H-D dealership that cares about doing it correctly, reading the manuals and rechecking their work. I wish that for all Buellers. I got my $25 HammerHead hat a week or so ago and it is too big (L-XL) for a size 7 head. I will send it to our 6'-7" son and buy another one. There seemed to be no size selection, I am too old to care. The base price is $18,900 and up another 900 for a bit of custom colors, meh.
Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas and have a great New Year 2022. (Message edited by mog on January 01, 2022) |
