Motorcycle.com is doing a new 2016 streetfighter comparison. It gives the specs of the bikes to be tested here http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs/2016-streetfi ghter-spec-sheet-shootout?utm_content=title1&utm_m edium=email&utm_campaign=motorcycle_review&utm_sou rce=newmo20161006 Nice to see EBR in the mix again |

Johnshore, thank you very much for providing that link. I could hardly believe my eyes that a moto mag had a really decent article on Erik and the elves creation. I have put the article in the 'Buell file' and the spec portion at the bottom is clean and to the point. I was under the impression that the EBRs had a shift indicator or option for it to show on the display? Anyone out there can set me straight with the new (or older) model? |

Thanks for sharing! Nice to see they are finally including the EBR in a shootout! They have rarely gotten much attention in the mags. The comparison specs look pretty good! Clearly EBR needs to start including a more substantial electronics package in order to compete, though. Hopefully that will be included in the 2017 models. |

That is REALLY good to see. Interesting that the EBR is right there at the top of the heap in terms of numbers but almost in a different league it's so much lighter. Great review and a great boost for The Elves! |

Awesome! Hopefully EBR will continue to get this kind of press with these kinds of results! And that it translates into sales! |

This is great for EBR ! ! As I have said in the EBR's facebook page and on the article's comments .. I think the test was not very fair.I am talking tires.... The SX was fitted with Pireli Rosso Corsa, while the Tuono&Triumph were fitted with Pireli Supercorsa..... The FZ10 was fitted with Bridgestones S20 .....Supercorsas are a much better tire, so the test has many "issues" ..... If the SX and FZ10 were fitted with Supercorsas , their handling would have been even better .... Tires are the Alpha & Omega for sportbikes ! |

"Oil in the swingarm?" Did they get their hands on some weird hybrid EBR Buell XB chimera for their test?? |

^ I noticed that. I'm surprised they didn't claim it still uses a Rotax engine. |

The amazing part to me . . . and I love it . . . is that the EBR is on par, if not at the top of the list, with the finest sportbikes in the world and we are now long past having to append that distinction with any excuses or qualifiers. These's a damn good chance that the world's best sportbike is built in East Troy, WI. Period. |

You guys felt that article was good for EBR? The way I read it was the writer felt the EBR was great on paper but they did not like the bike once they rode it. Did anybody else read it that way? I don't feel that article did EBR any favors. They seemed to be very biased against EBR and did everything they could to make it look bad. (Message edited by buelliedan on December 29, 2016) |

You DO have to wonder why it topped every OBJECTIVE measurement, but still lost subjectively... But I've seen that countless times over the past few decades, not just against EBR. |

At the end of http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs/yet-another-s treetfighter-shootout , it doesn't shown any 'net EBR communities!? That seems a little under-researched. I googolized "ebr forum" and found BW and ebrforum.com, then stopped looking. They must have used MSM techniques. |

The Cycle World print article seemed pretty biased against the SX, but the motorcycle.com video was pretty balanced, I'd say. John Burns really liked the EBR and stated so without reservation. The other testers also found a lot of positives, as well. One had nothing but good things to say about the ZTL brake, and even the guy who wasn't especially enamored with the SX agreed about how good the brakes are. The fourth tester thought that the SX embodied the "Raw, Pissed off Character" of the Naked streetfighter class. Overall, I think the SX came out of the Comparo smelling like a rose. |

I had commented on the video as well, tried not to sound too disappointed because I'm obviously biased... But it started out as a "street fighter shootout" and they ended up giving it to the fz10 because it was practical and the best commuter. The general public obviously hears "streetfighter" and just thinks "crappy naked commuter". It's a shame a motorcycle magazine doesn't know the difference either. They're supposed to be hooligan bikes. A streetfighter shootout doesn't need to mention cruise control and traction control, it needs to talk about wheelies and stoppies, and why even though it's not comfortable and civilized enough to be an ideal "only bike" or commuter, it's still fun enough for me to not care. The EBR was definitely the most qualified to win the shootout, the aprilia is understandably good competition, and even though it wasn't in this shootout, that Ktm looks amazing and is the only bike I'd have to debate between if I was shopping(although if it was my money, I think the price gap would definitely point me to the EBR).the Triumph and Yamaha are just nice naked bikes. |
