now if they could find a manufacturer that can produce a battery that small. ZERO and the C5 have huge batteries! |

A hybrid battery can be MUCH smaller... |

Shorai in Sunnyvale, CA makes a very small light battery. I have one that is about 1 pound. Shawn Higbee works there, and is working on an electric bicycle. |

Elon Musk who heads up Tesla electric cars and Spacex rocket booster industries has been developing specialized batteries and controllers for quite some time now. Battery technology is developing at an amazing rate now with 3D cell configurations producing unbelievable results unheard of compared with existing commercial offerings. It may be a while though when these super batteries hit the market. But when they do we might expect similar range, performance and convenience during a recharge to filling up at the neighborhood gas station. Now if the (name your competitor...petroleum companies, bureaucrats, politicians, car companies, etc.) would get the f@#k out of the way and back these developments then maybe we would all be better off. |

Anybody have a suggestion on a battery for running total loss for lights on an XR750? A rechargeable lithium Ion? Only for head and tail/brake lights for short (but fast) rides. |

Is it for a race application? The EBR LiIon is pricey but excellent with it's integrated load balancing smart charger. The other options (i.e. Shorai) will be more short lived, but are priced accordingly. If low weight at any cost isn't a priority, then it probably just depends on how long you need the light to stay on... the stock battery would likely run it for a while. |

There are all sorts of alternative batteries. I have a crappy gen1 Honda insight and the insight board is full of tech geeks with alternative batteries being tested. I can say that my car - 1 liter 3 cyl has impressive acceleration with the electric motor. One thing - based on my experience with the 1125cr electrics - it isn't powering a hybride wristwatch. |

He said he has a Honda Insight, which does have decent acceleration. A quick search online shows they have a 0-60 time of around 10 seconds, which is in the same ballpark as run of the mill 4 cylinder cars including your Fiesta do. Also the Prius is about the same at around 10 seconds depending on which one you get. |

Chevy Volt 200mph procedure: Drop it out of an airplane. Do you have the faintest idea of how much power it takes to go 200mph? Didn't think so. |
