One thing that bike does not have is 'karizma'.

I hope EBR weren't involved in the mid 80's time capsule styling job : ( reminds me of the old 'Teapot' Suzuki GSF600

By the look of it, it will just be a restyled version of their current far east market cheapo 250?

I don't think any photos in that article are supposed to be the new bike; they're just a current Hero model.

Here's the "spy video" I've pasted here.
If you click my link it'll start as they're passing the rumoured new motorcycle.
It is in "stealth attire" and the fella riding it does seem to be upset that he's being videoed.
Also with his Aerostitch riding suit, it does seem to me he's overdressed when compared to most of India's riders.
Now I don't know if EBR had anything to do with said bike, but it was fun looking into it a bit before I head out...

That was fun. No ZTL, but the front wheel *did* look EBR-ish. Very light and carefully engineered.
