After being canned by Harley, Erik Buell is back with the fastest motorcycle he's ever made. The Erik Buell Racing 1190RR develops 185bhp at the rear wheel thanks to a larger, 1190cc version of the rotax v-twin. It's also 8lbs lighter than even the cheater 1125RR thanks to higher quality chassis components. The worst part? This probably would have been a street legal model if Harley didn't have its head so far up its ass. original here: http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2010/02/erik-bue ll-racing-1190rr-erik.html |

Nice machine! I see that http://www.erikbuellracing.com/ has updated their Website to include their three models. They also have a new logo. It is still a pegasus... very cool. OK, so the logo has been around since January, but I haven't seen it on the Website until just recently. (Message edited by toecutter on February 28, 2010) |

Euro spec, he is how building to the rules on the track, not to DOT limitations and that is the big difference. In time he may be able to make dumbed down street machines like the other manufacturers do, there is no way you can say that the GSXR was a street first, racing second machine. |

Remember, there was a street 1190R in development that would most likely be in showrooms around now if HD didn't pull the plug. |

True, but it wouldn't make that much horsepower with the current emissions systems installed. |

Willie G, you are an idiot!!! There, now I feel better. A street version of that 1190RR would have to be my next bike. |

Steve - Willie G. is not on the H-D Board of Directors, FYI: He may be an idiot: I've only met him once, so I'm not sure. But - canning Buell probably had very little to do with the guy who WAS largely responsible for resurrecting H-D (and giving Buell a place at the table) http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/ people/board.asp?ticker=HOG:US |

I worked at Harley dealerships for 8 years and we'd always blame Willie G. for EVERYTHING (no matter what department - motorclothes, sales, service, parts - it was always his fault). I just put that up there for a laugh. I'm quite sure that he's far from an idiot and had nothing to do with Buell's closure. (Message edited by SteveFord on March 17, 2010) |

when did I do that? and he is a idiot. I had the miss-pleasure of talking with him in 98' at a lunch, needless to say he was very civil in stating Buell design did not fit with HD tradition and ya dee daa, i walked away. |

well to be honest that dude was right. Hd is not in the traition of spanking the japps in AMA. they are used to being laugh at. since those Harleys could not beat a italian scooter |
