This from Asphalt and Rubber: <http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/buell-builds- last-motorcycle/#more-6547> Very sad day. I was a little suprised by this because I thought they closed down at the end of Oct. Every time I see a Buell motorcycle it brings a smile to my face, such a great piece of engineering and so practical and fun. At least there will be 136,000+ examples out there for a while. |

It was late October this part of the media was just late. They probably saved the story for a slow news day. (Message edited by 46champ on November 20, 2009) |

The Blast line ran a little longer. Last unit off the line was today. |

Hmmmm... It just seems odd that, what with the cubing of the Blast and all, it was the last to roll off the line. I'm not doubting it or anything, just curious why it ended up that way. Very depressing event for us enthusiasts, regardless. I can't imagine how tough it must have been for the employees, I feel for you... |

The whole Blast cubing, the B.O.B., the latest "Don't Wave" ads and the Blast being the last MC off the line were orchestrated by the nimrods at H-D. I don't know but I'll betcha that BMC would not have done things that way. Buell has always done things to ENCOURAGE the enthusiasts not ALIENATE them. |

Blast builds were most likely more in stock complete due to low demand. My guess. The Blast was an entry bike or a girls bike. It sucks that it could not be afforded to live. |

I've mentioned this in other posts. I'm not hurt by the closure as much as just wondering what HD is really up to. I'm on my second Buell and really love all the bikes. Just wondering why HD would close Buell when they could of just sold it off to Erik or anyone else for that matter. Anyone in business knows if you've got some stock on the shelf that can make you money you don't just throw it in the trash. It all makes no sense to me. I can tell u where I was just starting to respect HD and even considered buying a Vrod muscle, it won't happen now or any time in the future. I owned a Triumph in between my Buells and I'll happily go back to them. I hope HD goes out of business for being so stupid. |
