Sales of niche motorcycle brands are booming at the expense of the more established names according to industry sales figures in 2007. One brand that can testify to this is American sports bike manufacturer, Buell, with sales increasing by nearly 40% in the UK market in 2007. Two other niche motorcycle brands also appeared in the top four percentage growth figures. Buell’s UK Managing Director, Paul Stroud said: “2007 was a strong year for Buell and we aim to build on that to make the brand’s 25th anniversary in 2008 one to remember. We’re entering an exciting new area with the 1125R and hope that this will provide an added dimension.” The Buell 1125R breaks with Buell’s long tradition of using air-cooled Harley-Davidson engines and it remains to be seen how Buell enthusiasts will warm to the new model.} |
