I got a chance to sit on and observe up close the new 1125R and let me tell you it is awesome. It maintains the XB look, yet it feels more aggressive. The whole package is definitely a duck hunter and literally a rice burner.

Looks just like any other Jap bike really, The rads look really hideous, was there not a better position for them, The twin spar frame is a rip off of Yamaha fzr design (going back to mid 80's).The frame is horrendous....it is just larger than life but hey thats the way to go...right?. The front rim brake, lighter than a Jap twin disc setup....Yeah right.......lets discuss gyroscopic forces with this one. The bikini fairing looks cool....reminds me of a 916 Ducati. All in all I can't wait to try one out, I am happy for Erik as he now has freedom & in his wisdom decided to move away from the xl/ xb engines......as they are crap. eze |

>>>Looks just like any other Jap bike really, Which is your way of saying that "any other jap bike" looks hideous? I suspect once you see it in person and have a chance to form a more informed opinion you'll change your tune. >>>The rads look really hideous, was there not a better position for them, Yes, there was. But traditional locations would have brought with them traditional problems. I think the more you learn about the raditors design and placement the more you'll like them. >>>>The twin spar frame is a rip off of Yamaha fzr design (going back to mid 80's. It has nearly nothing in common with the FZR frame. You must be new to motorcycling, I'd encourage you to do some research. The frame was patented in 1986 so at least you have the date right. >>>The frame is horrendous....it is just larger than life but hey thats the way to go...right?. Larger than life, the strongest on a street bike and one of the lightest. Now how the heck did those Elves do that? >>>The front rim brake, lighter than a Jap twin disc setup....Yeah right.......lets discuss gyroscopic forces with this one. Much lighter with about equal or less gyrospcopic forces. You missed the deatailed discussion (it's a pretty worn out topic) that invoked the engineering formulas, vector diagrams and so forth. It's a gifted breaking design. >>>>xl/ xb engines......as they are crap. Perhaps, but one of the most prodcued motors in the history of motorcycling and one of the few that has ever lived in a frame that folks would pay $1,000 over MSRP just to get one. . . my pals at HD, from the good old days, who are now making (if you believe the HD website) about $1,800,000 per year, may disagree with you. They have shattered all prior financial records of American companies with that piece of crap. I'd say you swung and missed at each pitch thrown your way. |

Thanks for the reply, to be honest I have just seen the dedicated forum, no doubt you know it all, & I will do you a favour a go read some stuff. I have not been here for ages, great to see you boys have been moving on & to be honest I am happy that erik has done likewise with his choice of engine (esp the water cooled issue). I was never an xl/xb powerplant fan for various reasons....not eriks fault though as he was tied to the moco I suspect. I still think that the frame is similar in design to the Yamaha twin spar & I also feel that erik used a butterfly in the xb zorsts based on the exup yamaha. Perhaps you could tell me a little more regarding my last two issue court? (if not then a link will do me)...I would greatly appreciate that. On the rim brake issue - do you think they will use it in on a racing bike? thanks for yer time. An exciting time for Buell & buell enthusiasts I feel. regards eze ps - it really does look like a Jap bike though.....lol |

>>>>On the rim brake issue - do you think they will use it in on a racing bike? Yes. It has won two races in Europe in the last three weeks. Read about it in the racing section here. This is from a race at Daytona last year.
