“It’s going to have Erik Buell all over it,” the source said. “It’ll carry its fuel in the frame, for example.” Bring it on! |

A rotax motor set up to run continuous high rpm's like the big 4 motocrossers. They better get busy! Back in the day I raced a Can-am 560 rotax powered mxer! OMG I can't believe I didn't break anything! Body wise that is! |

Wow, great news... Bravo Buell. Who sez Buell isn't innovative now? (But I must go on record at this point: I do not want a water-cooled Rotax v-twin in my 2009 XB.) (Message edited by tommy_2stroke on February 10, 2007) |

Naysayers take a bubble bath!! Lilac if you please. I am really proud of Buell. I cannot say that loud enough or long enough. I am so proud of them. Much second guessed, much justified. ROCK ON!!! Erik Buell, if you can read this I know nothing much about dirt bike design (although I have a Yamaha YZ400F and a Honda CRF100F), but I had faith that you knew how do this. You HAD to. You build'em and me and my kids (3) will buy 'em and ride 'em. You HAVE to get hooked up with Charlie Rauseo, AMerican Dakar privateer race team manager and racer. Down with KTM!! |

Let's see, a 450cc, liquid-cooled Blast. Why not? By the way, Lilac is nice, but I much prefer the Mountain Laurel, a string of dimestore pearls, some champagne, a Snickers bar and the kids visiting their grandparents and .... Um, sorry. TMI |

So, I seem to remember muttered rumors of a new blue 450 at a barn somewhere belonging to a certain ex motorcycle racer... and three years later, this announcement So... Court, or anybody else? What's out back of the barn now? I would say it's a superduke, but it'll probably be another decade or so until that actually ships |

Well, now that I see it is from a "source", I wonder how much of it is true? Rotax was not mentioned in the meeting in Orlando. Not to me anyway. CC size was also not mentioned Just makes me wonder how reliable the "source" is? The gist of the meeting was to let dealers know that Buell is going to enter this market, giving them time to prepare, learn and staff their dealerships to meet this new challenge |

I hope they do well. I've never been a huge fan of the Uly. I'm not to interested in a Super Moto. Me.... I want more naked Street bikes with a cutting edge to them. Hope they have it for me. |

Rotax also built the engine for the military bike that Harley had the contract for, before they went to Kawasaki. This only makes sense. Ez, what's the matter? Why so glum? |

Dirtbikes just don't do it for me - streetfighters do and only in certain ranges to keep it real - the dirtbike market is already flooded - you know how good this bike would have to be to even break even for the company? - Wow - I'm with Bads1 on this - I came to Buell for factory streetfighter - that HD made the motor just let me know it was a quality brand name motor - the rest I bought because it Belonged to Erik Buell - producer of naked streetfighters - I've always liked the edgy stuff and Erik keeps it there, but this - eh - the dirt - I was a skateboarder - don't relate. Perhaps a Supermoto with 17" would be trick though. GT - JBOTDS! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on February 10, 2007) (Message edited by ezblast on February 10, 2007) |

I was a motocrosser as well but gave it uo many years ago. 1991 to be exact. I just don't see Buell in know way or fashion capable of being up there with the likes of the big 4. I want Hooligan bikes. More Street bikes. More sport tour bikes. I hope it in the agenda. |

" ... by 2009 " The public marketing and pre-public dealership network preparation could get very interesting between now and August 2008. It's very easy to hide a concept dirt bike in the desert and/or woods when folks are looking to take spy photos of testing of street bikes. ('scuse me now whilst I go figure out exactly what demographic profile I fit into these days....) |

Rotax...hmmm...start a relationship in the dirt and finish it...where...hmmm...somehow the words Rotax and Buell give me de ja vu...why is that..hmmm oh yeah...I remember I said that, along many, many others...for a long time. I don't think this is misinformation. Go Buell!! I cannot wait to see what they field... |

I hope the rotax engine has come a long way. The ones they put is seadoo jet ski's were a pos. They were the fastest thing on the water... they had the quickest hole shot, the most top end, and the highest repair bills. I had my old slow yamaha that is now 15 years old and still running on the same engine. My friend had a 2000 special edition seadoo. He went through three engines in one season. I only know about rotax engines when they were in seadoos and never knew one to run for a long time, but boy while they were running... |

Don't you just hate a "Told you so"? Me too. However, I am constrained to refer to a certain TWO YEAR OLD post, in which a certain Bad Webber posted: "FLASH: BUELL TO USE ROTAX MOTOR" http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/99505.html?1109243823 Admittedly one or two details differ, but the point is crystal clear: A water cooled Rotax engine is the future of Buell. |

The Rotax engine that is used in the snowmobiles/seadoo is a completely different engine than whats going in the motorcycle. I have seen a Skidoo snowmobile with a V twin four stroke engine in it recently. The problems with the Rotax is its abused like crazy. |
