"Just when it looked like all hope for a controversial outcome for the Daytona 200 was gone, the AMA came to our rescue. In the practice sessions ahead of the Daytona 200 the Buell XBRRs were only scaring their own riders. The riders aboard }motorcycles made from re-cycled beer cans had several seconds on the riders aboard motorcycles made from re-cycled crankcases. One hundred-fifty horsepower? Hardly. The real horsepower figure was more like the number of BBs the Veep put in to Harry Whittington's neck--somewhere between six and two hundred. However, just because the Buell XBRR is the slowest factory roadracer on the planet does not negate the concerns with how it was homologated for Formula Xtreme. A good argument still exists that the engine in the XBRR is not based on a U.S. street legal engine, and it will likely be protested when a rider on a Buell XBRR eventually takes points or purse money away from someone else." http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2006/Mar/060317omo.htm What's with Tracy Hagen and Dean Adams? Do these guys have some bizarre Japanese love triangle with Kevin Erion, or what? |

The guy sounds like a total friggin tool!! So a bike that qualifies on the second row out of 60+ riders has to be the slowest bike out there. This guy is a total idiot. he is begging for attention. Just like those stupid celeb papers... I think he should be reporting on that crap and not this. |

What's really funny is that the next photo is the sequence is Mat Mladin after he won the Superbike race....who in fact pretty much comes to race, win, go home...repeat. Mladin would spank any Honda rider/Kawasaki rider/or Yamaha rider on "Any Given Sunday" repeatedly....yet they continue to rag on him...why? |

Troy Bayliss is back in WSB & winning again. Barros is in WSB fighting for podiums. MotoGP washouts, both. Hodgson is in AMA Superbike, along with another WSB washout, Ben Bostrum. Each of these individuals seems to have a bit more humility than Mladin shows. If he's really all that & a bag of chips, let him prove his mettle in MotoGP. Until he does, he's just a bully in a playground. It DOES say something about the state of AMA Superbike that no one has knocked him off that horse though. Superbikeplanet definitely has an anti-Buell bias. Just add them to the list, I guess, of complaining a**holes who've never even designed their own rearsets but are qualified to judge the engineering efforts of an entire company. |

The neat thing about poison is it's only poisonous if you consume it. Nothing like inspired genius and genuine enthusiasm to bring the pundits out. They enjoyed their glory during the "HD is shutting down Buell in 60 days" period, let them get their kicks now. We've got plenty to do! Court |

Why? It shows how well Erik filed out the aerodynamics that also under full speed the bellypan oilcatch system works super! Take it with humor, these guys need in the next years a lot from this (-: Jens |

With all due respect to the famous Bostrom brothers...who to this point have done nothing but climb rocks....they should not be mentioned in the same breath with Mladin. I would, like most all you, love to see the Buell's on the podium...competition is what makes this sport great! As for the comment about Mladin is not great until he goes to MotoGP and win? Please....the AMA has gruelling tracks out there that are nowhere near as tailored to safety as MotoGP. I think Mat Mladin is probably one of or not the best to ride a motorcycle competitively....and I think his record speaks for itself. In my humble opinion. |

Yes, his record DOES speak for itself. Not one single world championship. How many Superbike titles would Eddie Lawson have won if he didn't go to GP's? Or Schawntz, or Rainey? Please. Big fish, little pond. |

moto gp is where the talent is..period.... mladin dont want none of what rossi or capirossi or gibernau or edwards has....as for nicky hayden, i wish him the best, but, i just dont think hes got the skills to continually beat rossi....or run close for that matter...but i have eaten my words before. Good point Sinatra. I think Nicky has great talent. Once saw him split 2 riders going in to a fast turn at Mid-Ohio....that was damn incredible...the people around us were like....holy SH*&! I think Mladin would do well in MotoGP but I don't think he will go. He is not a young lad as Rossi or others... |

Didn't Mladin just sign a 2 or 3 year extension with Yoshimura? |

So, what caused the oil leak on the XBRR? A piece of clutch basket or primary drive going through the side of the motor, an oil cooler leak, or is this a different problem entirely? (Message edited by jima4media on March 21, 2006) |

Yes, a primary drive related piece going through the mag primary cover. |

I used to like that site. Now I hope we can cook them up a big dish of crow and make them eat it at some of the FX races. Walk around any paddock after a hard race and there are bikes of every make puking oil. Fock Em! |

No single row primary chains at Daytona. That idea was dropped some time ago during earlier development effort. And no, lest anyone imagine it, I'm not "Anonymous"; never have been, never will be. I 2nd Jim's sentiments! Thank you to the Anonies! |

I understand that, but maybe that pic wasn't AT daytona? I don't remember hearing about any oil spewage at Daytona... Maybe that oil came from THIS engine in one of the support races?
Doesn't really look like the primary is damaged though... Sweet lookin' engine though . |
