BlueBuell, that sounds right. The front and rear suspension must be changed as I understand it, and I doubt a dealer would suffer that kind of expense. Press them for details on what parts they are changing and post back here. Several people here know much more than I on this topic. |

Thats right Jose' its made for your mate Bob eh eh. In fact its sitting in Blacktown Buell where Bob works on Saturdays. The S is put together by a bloke called Paul Baily. Paul works for Buell over here transporting the demo fleet around Oz. The R I know little about. In fact nothing, don't know if they are gonna take it drag racing or just use it for show. MadGaz

I really like the overall look of that slammed XB drag bike. The paint scheme used on bodywork and frame really make the overall lines flow together much better than stock. Nice looking bike. |

Hoping someone can help me out. I crashed and totaled my 1999 S3T and am currently negotiating settlement with insurance company. I purchased and installed race kit, but cannot find purchase receipts and part numbers. Can anyone provide the suggested retail price and part numbers for the following Buell race kit components? I can't seem to find them anywhere. 1. Header and muffler 2. Race Air cleaner kit 3. Race ECM Cost guestimates would be helpful, although suggested retail would be best (along with part numbers if you have them). Thanks in advance! |

Fly, Depending on where you bought the things you may be able to contact the dealership and have them pull your purchase records. I was able to do this at Hal's. Getting the insurance company to settle fairly is an entirely different matter however (of which I'm far from giving up). |

Fellow Badwebers, I’ll try to make this short. I took my 2004 Buell XB12S in for it’s first service at 547 miles and they totaled it. The service tech grabbed the front brake trying to avoid a car cutting through the rear parking lot and flipped the bike forward. The car sped away and the Tech broke his shoulder. The first estimate was for $4,100, after pointing out every little scratch I got it up to $5,300. The adjuster said that was just enough to call it totaled. The adjuster placed a salvage value of $3,200 on it. I had my on salvage bid done that was $4,000. So I decided to keep the bike and sell it to the company I contacted. $800 for 1 phone call, not bad. I could make much more money by repairing it and selling it myself, but I just don’t want to deal with it, maybe if it was wintertime. Would anybody out there be willing to pay more than $4,000 and pick up the bike in Fort Worth. Great engine for a project bike. The frame is damaged on the left side where the rear tail section bolts to the frame, but other then that there are no scratches. Anyone who is capable of welding and coating the frame would save some of the $1,450 for a new frame. Some expensive items with minor scratches are the primary cover $220 (very small neck), front wheel $336 and swingarm $362, no picture of the swing arm, but I could get one, it’s scratched on the left rear. I can fax anyone a copy of the estimate and email more pictures. The Drummer is not included, but the stock muffler has been installed. Thanks, Paul

Loki, the dealer’s insurance is covering it. Unibear12r, just bought another one yesterday for $7,800. That’s $500 more then I paid for the last one. Same situation, another dealer that’s stop selling Buells. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2482201006 I waited till the auction ended and gave them a call. They were just about to email the highest bidder and offer it for the $7,800, timing is everything! Hope it wasn’t anyone on this site. Bads1, a 05 would be great, but I couldn’t pass up another deal like this. Two great deals in less then 4 months. Just how many of these deals are there going to be? Anyone who’s interested needs to keep an eye on Ebay. BTW the first one was from Connecticut and this one’s from Pennsylvania, is it a Northeast thing?

I would like to address some possible scenarios I’ve been getting about my bike. If you’re planning to repair the bike and sell it, it’s not worth it. It’s only probable for me because I’m paying $3,200 for it and I don’t intend to repair it and sell it. If you’re planning to repair the bike and keep it, maybe depending on your expertise. If you’re planning to keep the engine and some other parts and sale the rest, then it’s for you.
