Wow, Al, I'm stunned! Congratulations. You remind me of my friend who retired from owning a gardening/landscaping business and bought a hardware/lumber store just to stay busy, and is a happy man. The future of Buelldom is sure to bode well thanks to you, Joanne & the Marcys. Sparky |

Maria (at American Sport Bike) called me back and told me the news today and I was blown away. For all of you people out there who ride these bikes and have bought parts from them, you know what an incredible job they have done. The Marcy family is just a wonderful group of people period. In the four years that I have owned this bike Tat Maria and Mel have become friends rather than just a "parts supplier". I can't tell you how many times I have talked to these good folks about anything BUT motorcycles. If I was in the area I would stop by and say hello, and it was always a good chat. The American Sport Bike shop was just a cool place period. To Al, I am sure you will do a great job. Tat and Maria had really good things to say about you and said that we have met at some of their party's. Well, I will be up in the area tomorrow dropping off some headers at Olympic coatings. Hopefully I can stop by and say hello. You have a tough act to follow but I am sure you will do a great job, and I am looking forward to meeting you. BEST OF LUCK!!! Paul in I.B. |

Phillyblast, Thanks, I'm officially addicted to the BOFH. Simon is my hero. I've already read all of 2003 and now I'm going back and starting from the very beginning. |

Wow, Maria, Melanie, and myself are humbled by the kindness of the Bueller's. Bueller's, current and past are some of the best people in the world. I really mean that. We will see many of you out on the road, while Al's working. Al & Joanne are doing awesome. Please support them and American Sport Bike Parts. |

Wow! Just got off the phone after calling Tat, so I thought, to let him know about an upcoming event...and Al Lighten answered the phone. "Al, what are you doing there?", I asked. For those of you who do not know Al, he is a Buell wrencher. And he knows his parts. Last year on the way to Laguna Seca, Al announces the throttle cable on his S3T needed replacing, immediately. Off we go to a dealer in route, and once the cable was in his hands, he took to the job like a doctor, but faster. Congrats Al, and I look forward to dealing with someone, who to me, was already in the American Sport Bike family. Scott Page |

Here's a link to a very well written AMA Superbike race story from the 1994 championship. A good read - if you don't know the ending (I didn't ) There is even a reference to one "loud American Superbike." Henrik |

For the snowbound that are not doing much riding now a days.....this may be more suited for the thread " How cold is it where you are at"..but...remember our little Santa Toss competition back after Christmas...Well, we have a new one! Sportster guys versus the Buelligans again! See how far you can bat the penguin here: http://n.ethz.ch/student/mkos/pinguin.swf The Sportster crowd is up to 514.3 feet. Hey Blake..let's see one of those screen shots again!! Happy animal cruelty to all...sure can't ride here in Ohio..minus 6 tonight...& thats warm by some folks standards right now. I took the Cafe bike off the jiffy stand & just stayed their...frozen to the concrete floor!!!<G> Dale A. |
