Dana, I've got a source for dubs also. If needed he can also do some editing. How long is the tape? The blanks will be a couple of bucks each at most. Throw in shipping and that's it! Let me know if you're interested. Brad edited by bluzm2 on December 27, 2003 |

Tape? As in VHS? Does anyone still use that stuff? DVD recorders are under $100 now. |

The response to the 20th Anniversary Tape is wonderful. You will all be highly enlightened, entertained and impressed with both Erik and Buell. You can read all the media hype both positive and negative about Erik and the New Buells (Sounds like a band, eh?) but once you see him talking about bringing his visions to fruition you are going to swell with pride-of-ownership regardless which model you own. This is just something you have to see and hear to get the true spirit and emotion. This is no boring lecture or hype. It is more akin to bench racing with your best friends. Just reading the words, regardless of who penned them, simply doesn't have the same effect. |

There are many things wrong with this country. This ranks right up there. Not only would I tell this lady to pack sand, but I'd make her pay the city's court costs and fine her for wasting the court's time. http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/12/26/toddlers.claim.ap/index.html |

>>>Court, this would be an even BETTER Christmas if you'd gather us all around and tell us a story (hint, hint..) Ferris...may happen my friend. There have been a couple most interesting Buell stories that have come from the last year and pressure to do the "remind me to tell you...." book is mounting! Merry Happidocisous Holiectamous to you, the Ferris-ettes and Denise! Court (counting the days until R2R....."return to reality"..the price of being in the power business in a post-blackout NYC!~) |

Hey, I'm not sure who to address, so here it goes: sign me up for the tape-to-dvd conversion/production. The only cost (from my end) would be media (1- 2 bucks/dvd) and postage. Blake, also willing to help out with mpg conversion and hosting. Matt |

Sandblast, I was all excited to tell you how to check the oil but Hans beat me to it. He's right, of course; dipstick is attached to the oil fill cap on the reservoir under the seat. Seat is released by turning the thumbscrew CCW-reach under the seat about mid-wheel and you'll find it (if you can't see it with the mag light). Break-in, according to Buell; First 500 miles- 1. During the first 50 miles keep the engine speed below 2500 RPM in any gear(Oops!) 2. Up to 500 miles, vary the engine speed, avoiding any steady speed for long distances. Engine speed up to 3000 RPM is permissible in any gear after 50 miles have accumulated. 3. Avoid fast starts at wide open throttle (Yeah, right) Drive slowly until engine warms up. 4. Avoid running engine at extremely low RPM in higher gears. DO NOT exceed 50 MPH for the first 50 miles(Oops) DO NOT exceed 55 MPH for the first 50-500 miles (Oops again) Text from Buell owner's manual. Smartass comments are my own. There you have it. In other words, use common sense. Check your oil often during break in as you'll burn more until the rings seat. Vary your RPM to prevent glazing the cylinder walls. DON'T check to see if your rev limiter works. And enjoy! ck |

uh-oh. I had to ride it on the freeway, and it has been to 80mph and accidently a couple times to 4000 rpm. Crap. Oh well, it had 100 miles on it when I got it and God only knows what they did to her during that first 100. I was really strict about the break in of the Blast, and it payed off. Hope not too much damage has been done. I'll be keeping this one forever... AFTER break in, what is the normal cruising RPM say, on the freeway? About 3500? Just wondering where a good place to keep it is for long rides on straight roads... Thanks for answering again- Man I've gotta get this thing broken in quick, I hope it does not rain tomorrow. |

Oh yeah, on my Blast I had to take her in for the 1000 mile service to not void my warranty, same thing for this one right? I heard some people talking about a 500 mile service? At 500 miles on the Blast I changed the engine oil at home, just to get it cleaned out... Where can I get an owners manual? |

I have had the tape with very good intentions to figure out to copy it It was made with vhs format When I can find someone or somewhere to edit it for me I will let everyone know. Not only does this tape have eric on it but everyone who made it to the 20th. But I am warning everyone that Bads1's and Spideys head are sometimes blocking the view. LOL |

Bad's head won't be much of a problem, but Spidey's could cause some hot spots due to it's light reflective qualities. Bwahahaha!!! |

Sandblast: I got my info from the owner's manual, which I got from the dealer I bought the bike from. Not that they volunteered to giveit to me; I pushed the issue. P/N on mine is 99478-99YA.(for my bike) If they give you crap about it, check with Dave or Bubba on this site-I'll bet they could fix you up. I normally cruise around 3K and above. That's right in the 'instant response'zone. Ever so much more so since I did the Thunderslide kit. If you do nothing else, do that. That equates to about 65-70 in fifth gear. Honestly, the owner's manual doesn't tell you a whole lot. If they're gonna make you pay for it I'd invest in the shop manual. But like I said, they just sold you a $6000+ bike and they oughta pony up for an owner's manual free of charge. I can't tell you about the 500 mile service as mine had 6K on it when I bought it. Dave or Bubba? |

Joe Bomber...Nolo Contendere! No sense in a political debate here. We can have fun with it in a small group over a glass of scotch. Simply is an amusing topic for us that could lead to some eye opening on both sides. We be old and looking for some deeper explanation of how and why we got to this point. Not looking for a communal blood letting. Just don't forget the influx of legal and illegal immigrants that want to suck off the system as well as make tons of undeclared income and institute their lower living standards in the name of "Culture"...and the political party (now parties) that are wooing them for their votes. |

Bomber...Oh so true. Was a lot easier to place blame on one or the other twenty or more years ago. Now...It is harder than hell to tell the difference as they are cloning each other so much to get votes that neither honestly has the "Real Problems of America" on their agenda. Now it is just Politics...Not Effective Management. |

tossing a line into the pond and waiting for the ripples. Looking for those out there around the Louisville, KY area. I have an eighty day(approx) biz trip to the area starting the 12th of jan. Staying in a motel is gonna get boring. Benchracing anyone? I am bringing the portable garage and its contents. Just in case I can get some riding in. Also plan on going to the IMS show in Cleveland and or Chicago. So in short, looking to put more faces to names. Loki |
