Does anyone know if I could special order a XB12R in a XB9R skin? I love the way the Blue and white 9 looks, but I want a bike with more torque. |

Halfaharley, I am nearly 100% positive that if you bought a black 12R and the blue bodywork, you could sell the black bodywork right here in no time. I doubt you would be able to order it in blue, but you could also ask your dealer if they can arrange some sort of deal. |

Thanks, thats a good idea. I would just buy a XB9, but I would want to bore it out sooner than the warranty wanted me to! So, black is likely the most sellable? |

Not to take you to task on anything Court but I gotta tell ya Porsche still haven't realized after 40 years the engine's in the wrong place <grin> You seen the new 9-3 drop top yet? Seems Saab are back on track with a chassis that harks back to the innovation they are renowned for. I never took to the first generation Opel \ Vauxhall floor pan model, nor do I believe many Saab purists have, even though Saab worked miracles with it. I always thought Saab should have kept and developed the old style 900 model more or less mimicking what Porsche have done with the 911, both timeless designs it has to be said. Pity Saab couldn't make it pay I guess. Rather like the S1's for Buell perhaps. Anyway Court knowing how fond you are of Saab as are many others here you all be nice to me and I'll post a pic of my latest Saab acquisition, one of only a handful ever built and I'll wager non of you will have ever seen one and it's way cool! Nope not yet LOL. Tell you what though I'll give you a couple of clues. It's a 2 seater and it's as fast as fu........ Newf, not enough info. No spark? Check the ignition amplifier on the inner wing. Flooded? Pull one of those hose connectors off the top of the inlet manifold and look inside see if there's a pool of fuel in there. If there is get it dry then clean the plugs and try again with a fully charged battery. Fuel problem? Check fuel pump is running. Bridge pump relay if unsure and stick your ear in the trunk (boot or hatch over here) and listen. Pump running? Faulty relay? Check fuel delivery to fuel injector rail, should be shit loads of the stuff so don't go blowing yourself up! If all that checks out ok and you still have a fuel problem check the pressure regulator. I doubt very much it would be anything else. F.I system fault? Check the hot wire in the air mass meter to see if it's not broken. If it's not broken you might need to swop it for one you know is good but I'd expect a 'check engine' light if you had a F.I. system fault and maybe the motor should start but not respond to throttle very well (limp home) . My bet is it is something simple because I'm assuming you've done all the obvious and found everything appears ok. Concentrate on the spark or wet manifold \ plug scenario and a strong battery. Trust me those 16 valve motors can be a pain to start if the spark is getting snuffed out. By the way if you want to cheat heat the plugs up with a blow torch then try starting her. Good luck you can do it. Rocket |

Come on Tim you fell for that one hook line and sinker. Considering nearly all Sonnets ever made were sold in North America that is highly unlikely to be a Saab you guys over there have never seen! In any case two seater it may well be but when was a Sonnet fast <grin>? Fabulous car yep, but not really fast. No my two seater is FAST!!!! Anyways thanks for trying but hey, keep guessing. Want another clue? It's hand crafted in Sweden but not by Saab themselves but it is a Saab. Rocket |

For you SAAB guys. Are you crying because SAAB is no longer a Swedish car company? Thanks to GM, SAAB is now a world car company! I recently read that the new SAAB is being built in Japan. Ain't progress great?? |

I looked at a local Sonnet a couple of years ago here. For a plastic car it sure had a lot of rust on the undercarriage. Rocket, Are you getting one of the V4 Sonnets? Or one from the 1950's? |
