Rex, yes that is the BLURR you see in the pix. it's safe and sound, as you can see, and in a bunch of pieces. the frame and wiring have all been "detailed", and i've done some other low-cost stuff to the bike over the years, but more or less it is just as it was when it stopped breathing on the way up to Laguna Seca in '99. i was asked several times over the weekend why i haven't "done anything" to it since then. reality, folks, reality. i have, on several occasions over the years, been offered cash for the BLURR, as is, where is. the decision to say "No, thanks" has always been easy. the day that i thumb the starter and bring it back to life will be full of emotion. even thinking these thoughts as i type this is full of emotion. this past weekend was SO wonderful. Rex, i am never more alive than when i am riding, especially with friends, and this weekend i was VERY alive. best regards, FB |

Ferris, Oktoberfast pix are great! Thanks for the heads up. I didn't see them yesterday. Wish I was there, but we had a family celebration here that was equally great. Looking forward to our next opportunity. Timbo why oh why can't I be in two places at the same time? |

I hate living on the East Coast, seems all the fun is in the mid-west and out in Cali! I am looking forward to the day when I am out of college and have no military obligations. Would like to tour across the US and visit some of you guys, hopefully stopping at Ferris's house at somepoint, I love those pictures. My girl has one of the view from your house as her back ground! Nallin Racing will be on the list as well! My best bud AWPRIOR and I have been talking of taking a trip sometime here next year, maybe up to see Newfie. My dad would like to come along as one last hurrah (He has ridin most everywhere on all kinds of bikes). The old man just got rid of his 1991 Ultra Classic (yeah he is a die hard Harley fan, its where he works)and picked up a 1942 WLA in World War two military configuration. Would like to see him ride that across the States! Ride safe fellas Brian P.S. Anybody out in Western PA and wants to ride, let me know, I'm here at Indiana, PA for school. Have bike, will travel! |

Brian, you're welcome here anytime at the 'Dome you'd like this area a bunch. there are world-class sportbike roads heading off in five different directions basically starting from the end of my driveway (i'm not kidding), including four mountain passes (the highest, Sherman Pass, is 9,200 feet) each within an hour's ride, and even tho it's mid-October, it's still sunny and warm EVERY day, with daytime temps in the high 70's-low 80's and bright blue skies. the overnight temps are starting to cool off pretty rapidly, tho, which makes the campfire we had blazing each night a pretty inviting place to knock back some Negra Modelo at the end of a hard day of carving. if you wanna aim this direction sometime give me a shout in advance so's i can plan accordingly on my end and we'll show you some roads that'll knock your Sidi's off ride two lean, FBaD |

>>>Timbo why oh why can't I be in two places at the same time? You obviously missed the 10-7-03 Nobel Prize proceedings. One of my heros, Vitaly Ginsburg, finally prevailed. For years he has maintained that a molecule CAN be in two places at the same time and that a single molecule, at any moment, can occupy two different places. His thinking has been around since the 50's. One of the Nobel Committee members, quite off the record, quipped words to the effect...we've spent years trying to disprove what he proved and couldn't. It was time to validiate Vitaly's science while he was alive to receive the award. Glad to bring you the good news....read more at http://www.nobel.se/physics/laureates/2003/public.html Court (who loved physics before motorcycles) |

Sigh, something very depressing on the way to work this morning...I'm cruising down the highway around 6:15 am, and I see a truck up ahead, trailering a bike. I pulled up to check out the bike, cause I'm pretty obsessive that way, and it turns out that it's a purple S2T. There are 2 bikes I just can't see being trailered, one is the S2 series, the other is the Ducati 900SS (or CR)...I guess I can't really blame him/her for trailering, as it was raining and there was some gusts (in any event I wasn't riding, so I'm not going to cast any stones here) but it still broke my heart to see the bike being trailered....hopefully it was going to greener pastures. |

Uh...that's not "Purple", it's "PARKWAY BLUE"....one of the GREAT stories in the history of Buell. By the way, based on personal observations that involved illegal activity in the Great Smokey Mountains (just outside Dollywood), the northbound interstate headed out of West Memphis, AR and Mt. Ranier, I assure you that the S2 is a most capable machine with which to traverse level 3 thunderstorms. The experience is made richer by the introduction of either Bach's Prelude in C Minor, Pavane pour une infante de'funte by Maurice Ravel or anything by Sonny Rollins in his post-bridge-sitting era. But hey...I get bored easily. (oh yeah, and don't leave home without Blind Faith) Court |

well, it was still dark, so it looked more purple ;^D I didn't think Parkway Blue was a color on the S2T "By the way, based on personal observations that involved illegal activity in the Great Smokey Mountains " Wouldn't care to expound on this, would you?

Jim m; SS in CR(Cafe Race) trim has short side fairings to expose the motor as opposed to the full fairing SS where the engine is enclosed and a graceful belly pan completes the lines... SS and S2T...quite complimentary! |

I've always been partial to the half fairing myself, but I think either of them look classic...too bad everyone got gipped with the lower quality components on the CR...looks like it would be easy enough to swap the full fairin sides and belly pan off of the SS and put the half fairing sides on. Either way, it's a classic look that won't ever age (in my honest opinion) |

The S2 does a fine job penetrating hail storms as well. Don't ask me how I know... |

The S2 Thunderbolt is also pretty adept at deflecting small rocks and other debris kicked up by Mr. Buell himself if you happen to be chasing him down a gnarly little paved goat trail in the mountains above Scott's Valley. the BLURR has the pock marks to prove it. hmmmm, i should probably have him autograph a few of them sometime FB |

Brad: No problem on my end, other than the sorrow for the victims of a horrible accident. I releived the traffic problem last night by stopping at Henrik's, sharing a couple laughs (I always laugh at him) and wandering on my way. The more you hear about the thing, the worse it gets. The pilot was asleep, or blacked out, and dumped the throttle to WFO! Those boats are fast. Normal ops were restored just moments ago. CONGRATULATIONS SNAIL ! Court |

Court, Thanks for the update. It sounded wierd from the start. Those are some heap powerful boats. Just from the description of the impact, I figured it had to be under considerable power, not just an overshoot. Firemanjim, I tried to respond to your email last night. MSN was bouncing email, they said they were "too busy". I'm working on a new batch of cards for you. My neighbor finally stopped by last night to pick up the t-shirt and patch. He will drop off our local patch a a couple of days. I'll have him make up some more cards. He'll be happy to hear they are appreciated by fellow firefighters. Oh yeah, Go Snail! |
