FMJ asks: <<Question for Aaron and the Sportster.Org guys.I am putting on the 30t front that I had at WOS and it has a narrower spline portion so it needs a different spacer or washer as the nut will not tighten now.(Did you sportster guys forget to put it back in the box?)>> Jim, Dale here...Jim Snyder emailed me you where asking about something with the 30 tooth pulley....I've been out of touch a few days due to the passing of my father last wednesday night. Jim, I think that pulley is for a big twin possibly..it doesn't have the meat or thickness of a Buell/Sportster pulley in the spline area. The box had the pulley, a new nut, a locking retainer & two bolts..I think their was a black seal of some sort in their too..is this the spacer you refer to? If so, it wouldn't function with that pulley on a Sportster/ Buell as we had to make spacers to go under the pulley lock nut. I think the black seal looking thing was a main shaft seal though & not a spacer...that's all I remember as being in the box. At any rate Jim, if something is missing from the box & you need it, please ping me direct with a replacement cost..I'll certainly take care of that! Thanks for the loan of it & I hope this isn't causing you a pain to much with getting your bike set up. Sincerely, Dale A. |

Paul mate, I've been trying to forget that night..."steep end" is a new term for me, but I understood it straight away..very descriptive! "What's that man doing, Mama?" "He's either selling Buicks or laughing at the ground, son..." r-t |

FMJ. The width of the pulley was increased from 1/2"to 3/4" about 1996 (?). The spacer and seal that you need would probably be a pre-96 part number. |

Dale, Hate to hear the loss of another dad. It's toughest thing I've ever been through. Lots of folks here have lots in common. You won't ever get over it but you'll get through it. Generous amounts of solo seat time on the scooter help. Our thoughts are with you. Bantz family |

Dale, Almost missed this one. Loosing a parent is mighty tough experience. Remembering the countless outragious times I had with mine really helped/helps. Hang in there Dale, my prayers are with ya tonight. I remember the time my 79 year old Mom called me and told me she won the 80 million dollar powerball! Everyone just about shit themselves. I drove over to her house (like immediately) looked at the ticket and sure enough the numbers matched. What I didn't NOTICE is the ticket she was comparing the winning numbers to was one of those pups you get at the store that "has the winning numbers on it", so'z you can check you own ticket ... duh. I won't tell you WHO had to tell US it wasn't a winning ticket but I was totally freaking embarrassed. -JW:> |
