Hi, I'm a "new" from Italy. First of all, i hope to send this message in the right topic, unfortunately, my english is not so good. I would buy a M2 within the end of this year. I would like to know which are the main things I have to check in order to avoid big problems after a short time. I read many articles about this bike on Italian press and it looks like not a very good bike but I love of M2 and I'will have it (She). Latest, is it true that also last models 2002 has got big problems? Thank to every body for your help bye gio

Went through the knowledge vault in the clutch section, but didn't really see anything that walks me through clutch adjustment, is there such a thing on this site, or online anywhere. My S1W is new to me, currently 2000 miles...I adjusted the primary at 1750, but now its getting more clunky through the gears, "grindy" into first at a stand still, and if the motor is off and I try to push the bike in gear with the clutch disengaged, it is rediculous, barely pushable. So I am thinking its just an adjustment thing...If you can help, thanks! Danny |

a broken collarbone, four broken ribs and a broken ankle. His chest cavity was filling up with blood... On a serious note; that extra hour of riding with a collapsed lung and bleeding into the chest cavity (compressing the heart, slowly decreasing it's capacity for pumping = bad!!) and the following wait for ambulance and transportation could have killed Rex. Please do your loved ones a favor and DO NOT RIDE!!! unless you're absolutely certain that you're ok. If there is the least amount of doubt, get it checked out. Henrik |

Gio, By 2002, the tube frame bikes were pretty well sorted out. All the things we did to our older ones were just things the factory fixed in later models. You shouldn't have any trouble. Just make sure your recalls are all done. Oh, and change the rockerbox gaskets to the new steel ones. |

I think Rex's ability to get back on after all that damage to his body is a testament to how powerful adrenaline can be. Get well soon Rex. |

Not only that Lib, but a testament to the vunerability of the human body. Lots of damage for a small high side. Going 10 to 15 mph. Really should listen to those EMT's when they say lay still,,,,, Take care of YOUR body there Rex,,,hope you mend fast and fully,, JM edited by joplin on August 21, 2003 |

Gio, go for it and enjoy. You will not be disappointed. These guys and gals on this Badweatherbikers BBS are a pretty good crew. Ok guys, here is my problem. My stock 98 Thunderbolt started getting super loud exhaust wise on the way home from work 3 nightsago. I figure no big deal, header nuts coming loose.well, I check em out, plenty tight. start the Bolt up, run hands along exhaust to find leak. 2 cracks, one right on weld where 2 into 1 collide, another in the big ass stock canister. I am being cheap, if possible. Any probs just welding the suckers up? thanks in advance. john |

Gio, As a carburated bike, you should have no problems at all with an '02 M2. Even with my FI '00 S3T, at has been almost trouble free. 23,000 miles later and still grinning! Regarding the tire thread a day or so ago, I just mounted on some Mich. Pilot "Road" tires, which is their answer I guess to the Avon SP45 series. I love these tires. Stick great, and I really can't tell the difference between the Dunlop 208's and these. |

Gio...I think the biggest thing to be weary of is the aftermarket...there's a lot of good stuff out there, but once you start re-engineering things, stuff can break...to put it simply. Johny, that exhaust will only cost you a few bills at a welder...I had my exhaust re-welded with an extra bead running between pipes up to the collector...and it's been bullet proof. |

Rick, great advice on the extra bead. I have left my bike 100% stock, and want to try to keep it like that because I think it will be the only stock one left in the world soon! My last bike was my beloved 1986 Yamaha FZ600. It actually shared a lot in common with my Tbolt. I raced it 3 years in 600 Superbike (paying the winners purses but lovin it)and was always amazed at what low weight, great brakes and great handling and riding could do. My friends on ther Katanas and CBR's were so pissed when I would beat them at SIR. (now Pacific Raceway in Kent) It is ajoy to outride guys on heavy modified bikes. BUT I loved what you did to your bike, well done, i know you enjoy it. very cool F1jhny (my plate) |

Well John, the only bikes I've ever rode are mine and an XB9R. Funny how people think this 75hp tractor motor is powerful 'cause you can easily take about anything from a stop. |

You mean we had Court all to ourselves in Racine and he didn't let on it was his birthday? We could have had a lot of fun at Applebees that night. Just got back form the 'unnofficial' homecoming. If you weren't there-you really missed out. |
