no, no, no .... here's one for you Rocket
ring-ding-ding-ding....(i think) back to Buell, name the author of this quote: quote:If pressed (and simplifying to the extreme), I'd say that the root cause of the majority of the problems stemmed from the use of a motor that was asked to operate at a level significantly in excess of its original design parameters. The resulting heat and pressure numbers seriously reduced any allowable margin for problems. Two other factors contributed heavily: The initial lack of computerized failure analysis, and the loosing upon the buyer of an FI system that was not ready for prime time. Both those problems were solved, but not before the damage was done.
and for bonus points, which of these three developed the infamous rocker-box leak this past weekend?
all in fun!

I stand corrected on the frame. I've always been fond of Duncan Harrington's (bodywork designer for Ian Drysdale's V-8 bike) Honda single. James |

Court: A while ago (at least six (6) months ago) you recommended a shop to rework the forks on the X1. As you might guess, that name has gone the way of the dodo. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks BTW: Herzog Closed the Race Team last month !!! |

Blackcat; ditto on Traxxion Dynamics. They've always done really good work for me. They may charge a bit more, but it'll be worth more than every penny when you call for set-up advice. Henrik |

Thanks guys I liked all those bikes especially the 'ring ding ding'. Glitch where did you get that pic? She's got a lot of potential has that one and who knows she could be cheap too if she were for sale. They look like good ole English house bricks in the wall so I'm guessing she's in England. Do you know who she belongs to and what motor is that in it? Nice one dude! Rocket |

Anybody know the Hp and torque figures for a '95 Gixxer 600? A buddy of mine got one...I can wax him on the Buell so people are insinuating that I have a more powerful bike. Very doubtful...I say. |

I need to send a BIG THANK YOU out to Jack Maurer(Flapjack).I have been having conversations with him in regards to getting some engine parts coated for my son's Derbi for Bonneville. Finally got all the parts back from porter, etc and sent off everything to Jack at his shop in Michigan (AM Performance Coatings)He called to go over everything with me and when I asked for the cost ,he said--postage.Just goes to show you the quality of the folks here on Badweb. So Team Elves(or is it Team Elves Junior?)has another sponsor. So send some business Jack's way, everybody. And again, thanks.} |

Hope everyone saw Woz on the Today Show yesterday. We were rootin' for his candidacy in New York City. I just watched Arnold Terminator announce and can say, without doubt, that Woz is a far better public speaker that the rambling, off topic, "I can't comment on that" Arnold. I always kinda dug on him, he should have never started talking. VOTE WOZ

As a native born Californian (though I no longer live in my home state), I find Arnold's conservative bent pretty refreshing in such a horrifically liberal political environment. Unfortunately he has nothing applicable on his resume. It used to be that one started in politics at the city counsel level, maybe then ran for county commission, then mayor, then perhaps some time gathering legislative experience at the state level, then maybe ran for congressman, and then you had the credentials and experience to say that you'd make a good governor or senator. This latest trend is alarming. What prior applicable experience did Mrs. Clinton bring to the table? What distinguished her is that she nearly got herself and everyone associated with her thrown in jail while trying to practice law in one of the most backwater states in the union. Ronald Reagan was a little more experienced than Arnold, having been president of the Screen Actor's Guild. What political experience did Mrs. Bono have? We require prior applicable experience of our dentists, airline pilots, and mechanics. I would argue that a governor or senator is at least as important. |

The whole California recall thing is hysterical. They could could elect someone govenor who gets 10% or less of the vote. A very small active group could win this election. We should start an Elves for Woz and see if we can pull it off. If every biker in California voted for Wox it might do the trick. dave |

I hated statistics when I was taking the class, but now that I've learned how to twist the figures, I understand the appeal... Gray Davis was elected with just barely 20% of the vote. Huh? Registered voter base of 15.7 million in California. 3.13 million votes for Gray. Lies, damn lies, and statistics. Ain't life grand? |
