Jose, Several reasons... First and foremost, I like to keep big jim and the twins happy. I've got a stock seat on the S1(s) you know. It's tough sitting on a 2x4 for a long time. Secondly, The warden arrives Saturday (by plane). She likes the comfort of the Sportster (with the back rest) better than the Buell. Turdly, Throttle lock. Fourthly, Miles per fill up, 100 compared to 170. I could go on and on but you get the idea. Give me a shout if you're ever up my way. lib |

Court, 202mph shirt or shirts, I cant remember if I paid for more than 1, note deropped. Better late than never. It's still very unique. Pilk ps If I paid for more than one sell the extra to someone else, and put the extra towards a ring for Srap. |

Wow. I thought I was the only one dumb enough to marry the Warden.

Liquid Cooled XB9S Highly over rated. Rode one to work this morning. Air cooled bikes are the way to go. I hate rain... |

You guys complaining about spongy rear brakes...just slap a braided line on 'er and she'll lock it up with relative ease...if that's your bag... |

The XBs have steel braided brake lines. It's just the rear is a single piston deal. But like I said before, I only use the rear brake to hold me on a hill to keep from rolling back. |

Hey Court, Speaking of 202 mph tees, I never got the 2 I ordered - instead of the tees, can I apply the funds towards another Team Elves Jersey for the Jersey Girl? Medium if you have them still. Thanks David |

I've only ridden 2 XB's but it felt to me that the XB brake is much stronger than those on the tube frame, magazine reviews have mentioned that the XB brake is now 'adequate'. I have steel hose on my S1, and you will break the brake lever before you lock the rear wheel unless you JAB it hard. It really is just a hill holder. |

Your weekly American Sport Bike update: First, we need to make a correction on last week’s message, there are so many new parts coming out that we accidentally labeled our new Tank Cover with Cold Inducted Air with the wrong part #... the correct # is 9006 C.I.A. for $359.95. For Sale: The American Sport Bike Show Bikes are still for sale and the prices have been drastically lowered. Chances like this happen once in a life time. • The Black S-1 is now $9,500. • The Red S-2 is now $7,500. Both can be seen at americansportbike.com. The S-2 is a collector’s item (with all documentation, data plate…all signature series collector paperwork). The S-1 has been in magazines and has won best S-1. Both bikes are in excellent condition with very low mileage, original owner and of course, all the extras. Credit cards accepted. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 760-727-2333. Serious inquiries only please. BBQ: If you don’t have plans on Sunday, August 24, you are welcome to join us at our 5th annual Customer Appreciation BBQ. As always, we will have awesome door prizes, delicious food and the People’s Choice Bike Show. If you would like a flyer sent to you, let us know and we can make sure you get one.

I wanted to run this by people in the know...(court this is prolly a good one for you...) A guy came in the other day asking me if there was a "special edition" '01 M2 with a orange frame and wheels, and volcanoe grey bodywork. He's buying it from an individual and wants 10k for it. I've never heard of such a critter in an M2....and I kinda think the guy is full of horse poo. He also says they only made 6 of them Anyone know anything about it? Frank |

In case you're interested, there's a new version of XAT.COM available on thier website. It's now up to 4.0, didn't know it myself until today. Don't know if this applies to non-registered folks. BTW, "if" you have a high-speed cable connection, check this puppy out. Give it a chance to load! http://www.polarisuk.com/video/auto/Koenigsegg.wmv -JW:> |

Yo Frank. They made S3s and M2s in that color combo (like Racerboy's S3) No limited edition bike ... just a color combo. Sounds like he's trying to pull a fast one or play someone for a fool. Lemmee tell ya about an especially rare 99 Demon Blue w/Nuke Blue frame S3 w all touring options.... Specially ordered ... the only year you could not get an S3T from the factory .... DAve |

Frank, OK... since DAve brings them up, here's his & BOb's S3T's as captured by him (mostly).
Hey Mr. Witt, very cool car -- had to watch the vid from work this morning (low tech home). Didn't catch the $$$ amount though.

Cyclone1, I've got one in my garage with 1500 miles on it that I'll sell him for a hell of a lot less. The orange frame and wheels were an option for extra $$$. Sure is a good looking bike, but that XB12R is even better looking. Joel |

Hmm 241 MPH eh? I thought McLaren held that as an official production car record with their F1. Haven't heard of that weird named car nor have I heard of anyone pipping or equaling McLaren's record. Say Jim, which version of XAT image optimizer is free? I've not being able to download any version when I last tried about 3 months ago, and no I'm not registered. TIA Rocket |

Have a great trip Mark. I will call next time I go to SC. Have been busy working on the house. As usual this is the time of year I do maintenance on the bike and reduce my riding. When the dog days of summer pass I'll for sure let you know. |

Some time ago I mentioned Steve Hislop's lap of Donnington Park when he was 'wild carding' in the WSB British round last season. His lap time beat Rossi's Moto GP best effort at the same circuit that same season. Hizzy was on a Ducati 998, Rossi his RCV GP bike. Factors in Hizzy's favour like weather or tyres or whatever should take nothing away from the mans efforts. Without a doubt he was one of the best riders in the world yet never really shone upon the world stage which for us Brit's was a good thing as we got to see him racing often. Hizzy is the current BSB Champ despite his 41 years, and this season hasn't been one of his best which is to take nothing away from him as a racer. Sadly Hizzy was killed in a helicopter crash on Wednesday. It seems unfair that a great racer can win the BSB series twice, win 11 TT's and countless other accolades and then in the twilight years of his riding career be killed in a helicopter crash. Barry Sheene, Dave Jeffries and now Steve Hislop all in heaven this year. I hope it's some party. Carl Fogarty: " Steve was a guy I regarded as one of the best riders in the world – especially when it came to racing on the roads. Watching Steve ride a bike when he was on top form was just amazing. His riding style was just so perfect it was just beautiful to stand there and stare. " Steve will be missed by everyone – not because they were his best mates – but because he gave so much to motorcycling as a whole and he was such a huge talent. I admired him so much. " Rocket
