yeah, I understand -- I guess I'm just not quite as motivated by "life style" issues as some

Well here's something. Whilst the T shirts might be a little expensive, genuine HD and Buell T shirts are good quality. Price an Alpinestar T for comparison.

One thing Harley and Buell do very well for me is motor clothing. For the most the quality is very high. Whilst some of the fashions might not be to my tastes, there are treasures hidden amongst the 'Live to Ride' 'Skulls' and ' Eagles' motifs that can see you wearing nice clobber without those things sewn in or on.

Yes, when I can I shop in the HD / Buell clothing departments.

no beef with the tees, or the life style folks, either one --

just confused by a person that would choose a bike by the tee shirt availability is all

but, as many have noticed, i am easily confused

Someone mentioned the guy who went back to HD because of the lack of stuff at Honda. It's funny, but the dealership I go to most is a Honda dealership. Since the HD/Buell dealership doesn't carry much, I go to the Honda dealership for things such as custom turn signals, tank protectors, jackets, helmets, and other misc. things that sportbike enthusiasts like.

My 1986 Yamaha FZ 600 handled as good as my 98 S3, I sold it for the Buell but if I had it back I would love to see anyone on a buell try to pass me..... all these bikes are awesome show some love....

F1 -- I don't think anyone's slagging any bike, or person, for that matter -- just tryin to see another's point of view, and failing, is all

I have spent a fair or more than a fair amount of time telling my pals how neat Buells really are, i forgot how easy it is to grab that soap box.

Not sure who F1Johny is refering to, but I for one like all bikes. I'm the opposite of many HD riders. I give respect to anyone on two wheels because we share the same dangers and the same enjoyment motorcycling provides. That's what I don't understand about squids and HD guys, seems like they only care if you ride what they ride. I've had Honda CBRs, an R6, and the XB12S I'm currently riding. I like each type of bike for it's own uniqueness. Attached is my previous R6.

I had an 86 Yamaha radian, and it really did handle like crap, and stopped even worse, but I still liked it for what it was...

Not that it has anything to do with this thread, the comment about the FZ 600 just brought back some nice memories.

Interesting. I have a Shoei X-11, which is a pretty high end helmet. It is fairly conventional in design. Schuberth has a pretty good reputation. This one seems to be a step closer to an open-face helmet from the flip front helmets. I don't really see much advantage in the flip-fronts. I will stick with full face. The three factors I look for are weight, ventilation, and sound, not necessarily in that order. I wear ear-plugs on long rides. My ears are bad enough as it is.

Many Lightning riders do that mod, but first, I would chop that cheesegrater, lose the fork reflectors, and throw some frame pucks on there.

I wish someone made a fairing for my Cyclone that was based on the RR-1000. Truely a unique beast. The aerodynamics are based on wind-tunnel experiments done by Harley in the 60s and 70s, and are designed to move through the air rather than just the dealership. One point someone made once, the nose of a 747 is less pointed than most sportbikes, but was determined by Boeing engineers to be the most efficient shape for speeds between 400 and 550 knots. That is a little faster than most sportbikes go.

I will have to get in touch with them. It looks more like a VR1000, the racing grandfather to the V-Rod than the RR1000. It looks like it can be set up street legal. The Manta kit is pretty cool looking, though I am not sure I want to pay $1000+ for the project ($318 for the fairing, $290 for the tail, and figure at least $400 for paint). There is no price on-line for the GP fairing, but that with the Manta tail might be the way to go, since I am not all that excited about sawing off the rear sub-frame if my bike.

Thanks for the info Smoke.

M2statz, I have wondered if that were possible. There are a couple of weldments on the M2 frame that seem to serve no purpose. I assumed they were there because Buell used the same frame for both bikes. You see parted out Thunderbolts on e-bay all the time, though I personally have not had very good luck ordering things on e-bay. Do you have any pictures of your ride?

In the process of trying to down load some pictures without much luck. The fairing frame lines right up to the bike frame, very slick! I'll work on those pictures.

F1,

Is that that snowmobile on wheels? It's built from a Polaris snowmobile. Probably fast as he!! though.
