E-Bear,that happens when your cranks seal goes bad and allows engine oil under pressure into trans.A fairly easy fix if you have a large air impact. If I remember they have a newer, updated seal now also.Mine went at about 30k--extended warranty took care of it.You know you wanted to pull that clutch cover off anyway, right?

Just in case some of you have some spare change and you don't know what to do with it, check out these simulators you can own.

Ara, look at your keyboard. Notice how close the "P" is to the "L"?

Anyone on the list have experience shipping, god forbid, CARS? Or be interested in a slow trip from Seattle to Milwaukee?

Dave,
Supposedly rail is a good way to go. Assuming you just bought another toy, if the seller is willing to drive the car to the trainyard, they just drive it onto the boxcar autotransport carrier and you head to Milwaukee and pick it up. Someone I used to work with shipped their pickup from Sacramento to Milwaukee this way. If you look in HemmingsMotorNews there are tons of Auto Transporters who haul collector cars regularly, usually on a ramped trailer behind a 1-ton duelly pickup. Not sure of the costs though.

Probably no help, but I used a lot of the keyboard keys so that should count for something.

Side thought, if it can wait you may be able to get one of the SuperSPLASH attendees to drive it back for you, but that would not be until July.

Did you just get another FrenchMobile????? ;)

FrenchMobile, I am thinking of it. Mine has been fun and tolerable in the winter so I am thinking of buying a nice one and selling the rather rusty one I have.

I do not have the time nor the inclination to restore the thing. No one in area that I would trust could do the renovation work it needs.

If the freight to Seattle was resonable I would ship mine out to the restorer out there and have hime do it. Other wise I might jsut sell mine and buy one of his that is done.

French what?

Dude...your car is not French, it's Svedish. Made by the same Fighter Aircraft folks who did ours. My motto is "don't buy a car from anyone who doesn't make fighter jets as a sideline".

French?

Reminds me of the "10 Worst Cars of All Time". Renault was the only company to land TWO in the ten.

In their summary of the Daulphin....."and it comes with a rear window defogger to keep your hands warm while pushing it".

French?...French?....French WHAT?

Now Court I haven't had a Saab in quite a while. No I purchased a car not designed by aircraft engineers but by cooks.

A 2CV Citroen.

I is one of the worlds classic car designs, beloved by millions, a serious cheap as hell car. Slow, funny looking, inconvenient in many ways and oddly comfortabel and uncomfortable at the same time. Quite fun really.

Both cars are gorgeous. I wonder what the yellow one is going for?

With 2cv's one muxt always get underneath and look closely at the frame. the frames rot before any of the other stuff and nice looking cars can be awful.

The yellow one is on traderonline.com, just do a search for Citroen, there are less than a dozen of them listed. I think it was either $6,500 or $9,500, more or less.
=====
$6,450. Just checked.

Dave,
Just for that you should show up at some event Court is attending, and have your hair temporarily dyed into a yellow flame job. Let me know, or let someone know in advance, so we can have a camera standing by to record his reaction.

Court, I'll have to take you to task on the 2CV front.
As a previous owner and as someone who is currently contemplating trading 320bhp for 27bhp I can honestly say they represent the most fun I have had on four wheels.
If you want to learn the art of slipstreaming, this is the car you need. There is a very popular 2CV race series over here (UK).
Despite appearances they actually handle pretty well and the engines (oil cooler as standard) will take all you can throw at them - an absolute hoot to drive quick (well sort of!) or slow.

Sir Simon:

Then to task I shall be taken with an open mind...I'm looking for a chance to come have fish & chips with you again and would look forward to being driven in one of those puppies!

Tell me that Airstream trailer is not connected to that car.

Acually...it kinda looks like a hoot.

All the best,
Court

If that Airstream is connected to the CV it is only to keep it from blowing away!!
