Hey! r-t! Trees grow in Jersey this time of the year at most all the local volunteer firehouses! Court's just going to have to explain how the trees grow with the mesh on them to Vickie. I'm sure he'll have the answers. 'Ole Baldie |

I desperately want Buell to come out with a more powerful motor for the lightning... But not because I need it, or even really want it. A race kitted XB9s sounds about perfect for what I want in a bike. I want a bigger engine so THE CURRENT ONES will depreciate down to a used street price of $5000 - $6000 that I could sneak by "the accountant" a couple years sooner then I could otherwise. C'mon people. Start depreciating those XB9S's! Please! That bike is killing me! |

Court: The F250 parts sounds okay, however, the two bladed ax seems like a resaon be concerned. I used a Stihl myself, but each to his own. NC trees must not be as tough as Jersey trees. Cheers all |

I dont know about anyone else, but I thought that Aprilia Blue marlin was hideous. And the Tuono is not all that hot to look at either. Now an MV Agusta Senna edition is a beautiful bike. |

Hey Firemanjim if you're still out there. Nice picture, looks fun. I didn't get to see Aaron+Brians SpeedTalk the other night but when you mentioned they might be designing some ,from scratch heads, you got me curious and i've been watching to hear more.Did they give any other info on them, would they be for the 1203 engine Buells? Thanks and stay safe John |

John, They said they were buying a new 5 axis CNC mill, and that they were thinking about making some billet heads from scratch. I believe he was referring to the 1200's, but the conversation wasn't specific. Jeff |

Jim: If you want to run the bike at any of the ECTA events next season, the garage is open and the house has three (3) extra beds. Great shot from the Salt. Ride Safe |

Doesn't billet have poorer cooling properties than cast due to the increased density/added mass a billet piece would have? Seems to me a cast precision machined in the critical areas would be best. Billet seems overkill for most any hot street/typical race application. A very reputable and established retired motorcycle technician told me, "billet motors are for show bikes". There's always exceptions (like massive drag motors, etc)...but for street based engines residing in stock frames I personally don't see the point($$). To each their own I guess. Seems to me the stock castings have a lot of potential. |

Aye, that scoot kicks a$$ I like it On a slightly different note...does anyone know wether the combustion chamber on a Stage3 head has to be enlarged from a 74" to a 88"?? Wanna get some of those for my M2, but I think Nallin is too damn busy to answer the phone hisself Frank |

Frank, you do not need a larger combustion chamber for an 88" motor. bighairyralph |

Rick, Those billet heads he was talking about doing up were for the LSR bike. I think the stronger metal would be a plus in any application, but you're right, for a street machine, it's over kill. Jeff |

Frank, a buddy of mine has got an 88" Sportster. He's using Zippers CNC ported Thunderstorm heads. Gets him 100/100 at the rear wheel (at this time). Another point is he started out with HeadQuarters tricked out 883 heads and made 94rwhp. The torque came on much earlier in the band, but overall the same peak torque numbers. So I'd say no, the Thunderstorm chambers are not too small. Maybe not the optimum choice for a mountain motor, but not a bad way to go either! Regards, Jody |

How difficult is it to change the gasket on the starter motor on the 1203 bikes? Only 6000 miles and leaking. Bummer. |

My heads are Zippers ported Thunderstorms. I'm getting 113hp and 100lbs out of the 88". Looks like I'm going to be selling my 88" motor. Any body interested in that or my 80" motored S1 (95hp and 85lbs) or a stock 74" S1 let me know. All very reasonable. The 88" motor (motor only) is $4500, the S1 with a 80" motor is $6500 and the stock S1 $4500. Knocked up the girl and have a slight change to priorities at the momement. bighairyralph |

Stubby: Piece of cake, but you've got to pull the primary cover to get at it, so you get to replace that gasket, too. If you're careful, you might not bugger up the seal on the shifter shaft. As long as you're in there, take the opportunity to check/upgrade your tensioner. It's a one to two beer job... r-t |
