I have for sale a Penske 8983 fully adjustable shock.Length eye to eye looks like 14 3/4".It's two years old and really transformed my S3's handling. Asking $750 including shipping in the lower 48.

What weight spring does it have? What weight rider is it set for? |

The spring is a Hyperco 7x475,I weigh 165.I believe they look at the bike weight and other factors to determine which spring to use.The shock came from Traxxion Dynamics, they installed it since all my tools and stands were locked up in storage while I was moving. |

If you'd lose a 17 year old girls worth of weight it would be a perfect fit! |

Whenever you list a Penske, it helps to know the mileage on the shock (like William's). These shocks are usually OK for 20,000 or so miles, then they leak and need the rebuild done. Also, whatever you do, do not have KFG Racing do your rebuild! |

Apparently, judging from the message I received from Buellish, it’s bad form to post an item on another items post, even if it’s not under pricing the OPs item, nor a competing rider for its set up. I’m going to attempt to delete my post for his convenience. As audiowize says, know the mileage. I bought mine on here for $550 and the tube was nearly rubbed through and it had been shelved for a long time. The rebuild was nearly $300 IIRC, parts and pull rods to go to 14” while it was at Penske. Plus powder coating the spring and associated 14” mount/hardware. The shock tubes will eventually rub through by the plastic spring holder (which is somehow harder than the metal tube it slides on) at what I would guess would be 20-30k miles.
