https://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/mcy/d/2003-buel l-s3t/6669187195.html Stopped by and took a look at this tonight. Looks like it would be a good rider and overall in good shape. ~37k miles, pretty much original except for pipe and missing rear hugger. Narrow bags only, no liners. Will need a battery. Cosmetically some scuffs on right side bag lid but does not look like it's been down. |

I saw this one listed also. Looks like a nice bike but I’m still holding out for a clean M2. |

Hard to sell an S3. Arguably the least valuable of the tube frames. Ironic because they were the most expensive new. |

Damn that thing looks wonderful. > Arguably the least valuable of the tube frames. Which of the tubers are holding the highest values? |

Maybe a nuc blue/molten orange S1. I bought a so/so s2 for $1500, got another $1500 in it and I’d be lucky to get $2k. Paid $2700 for my 2,700 00 s3, put the T works on it and other upgrades $1500, be super lucky to get $3k for it. My S1W I paid $3200 and now have $4k in it, again be lucky to get $2500. Saw a super clean low miles 01 M2 go on eBay for $1800. IMO there’s not a Tuber out there that will sell much over $3k and that’s for the killer clean ones. Less if the buyer is factoring in shipping. If you go to sell, put it bone stock, sell the upgrades you have on it. Put them Put by the road locally probably have better luck. They can be gorgeous and that can sell. I was on my white/White s1W this past weekend at the gas station and two guys were asking about it. “I bet that thing flies! Looks like a Ducati!” |

Stocks make great investments and are no fun. Women and motorcycles are poor investments and a lot of fun. Decide what reason you are buying for. Guitars and spots cars fall somewhere in the middle . . . . I'd also throw trucks in the poor resale category . . . I have an F-350 Super Duty Lariat Crew Cab Diesel with every option . . . bought in 2013, thought we'd pull a new 4-Star horse trailer . . never did. Sold trailer (trailers hold value VERY well) but the $75,000 truck . . . .with 10,200 miles (yeah, 2,000 a year) won't bring squat. So . . like the S2 . . it becomes yard art.

So you’re saying that my nuclear blue and molten orange S1W Might actually be worth something? |

They tend to bring the most I’ve noticed. But still not much over $3k. |

A molten orange S1 with nuke blue frame and wheels is exactly what would pull me out of hiding. |

I was searching for an S1W, molten orange/nuc blue. It was listed here in badweb about 8 months ago. Unfortunately it had a lot more wrong with it than I ever knew or was disclosed. I bought it sight unseen.

Nelson, didn’t say I’d sell mine for that but, if I were to sell it, $2500 would probably be the number it would bring on eBay auction. An s1 listed for $2400 on eBay, no sale just a few days ago. Last S1W that sold, was listed on here I think with the wrinkly tank. $2k. Sad I know :/ |

John, what did you give for it if you don’t mind disclosing? |

William, Your S1W is pretty dang sweet. If you sell it, you'll regret it. The value of these bikes is in the joy they bring to all of us knuckleheads on this site. Not in $$. However if you were to sell the S1W let me know because it would go to a very good home. LOL!! Nelson |
