2015 EBR 1190SX with 471 mies on. As new condition. To much for me! I have it non-op in Ca. but start it and run up to temp every month. Comes with new battery and rear tire and special battery charger/tender. In Perris Ca. $6500 OBO Make an offer, the worst I can say is no.

Non-Op is a California thing. If you have a titled vehicle, it either has to be registered for use on the street, or have a non-expiring certificate of non-operation on file with the DMV (a $15.00 one time fee). The Non-op keeps you from racking up registration fees. if you buy a vehicle with expired tags that never had a non-op filed, you have to pay all the back registration fees + fines to get the vehicle legal on the stereet again. There are a few dodges that might get around that, but they are dodgy, a pain in the butt, and if you get caught your VIN can be blacklisted (Message edited by lynrd on July 18, 2018) |

Lynrd, so CA has a vehicle policy that makes the new owner responsible for the prior owner's expenses? Sounds like you need a new Gov and legislature |

Yes. This prevents the olde practice of "Titlewashing" to get rid of the old fees that were due. The fees are tied to the VIN - changing ownership of the VIN doesn't mean those fees are no longer due, if you see the logic. Easy to file a non-op - you get the form every year with your registration renewal. If you are in California any time at all and go to buy a used vehicle, you learn quickly to inspect the title and registration status carefully, or factor the back fees into your price offer. These are not new rules, either. These are easily 15 years more or older, so deciding this is another reason to despise the Moonbeam is misplaced. Rules went into effect when we had the Governator. And honestly, comments about our state legislature from folks who don't live here might flick me a bit on the raw. IF you bought real estate in ANY state, and back taxes were due, you would have to pay the back taxes on the parcel that the former owner didn't pay. This is exactly the same concept. Taxes and fees are due and were never paid. (Message edited by lynrd on July 19, 2018) |

I understand the logic, but with real estate there are typically checks in place to protect the new owner from getting hosed over unknowingly. Sorry if I offended you, it was not my intent. I think All states have issues they need to work on. |

I am a 65 year young owner who imagined this bike would be less than it is. To much for me. One ride and I was sure I would hurt myself and the bike so it has been parked. Agree that the late great California is a rough place to own vehicles. If you miss doing non operation payment the fees accumulate at 100% penalty. After a few years the state will take your tax refund or put a lien on your home. May be why so many are leaving the grab the golden state. This one has clean title in my name, all EBR paperwork and Ca. title. |

Got my 1190SX out to show to a perspective CL buyer. He was a nice 70 year old fellow on a Kawasaki 300 Ninja. He wanted to see if he could fit the Ninja fairing to the EBR. I had cleaned the SX and took for a short ride. Now it is not for sale. Had to reject the Kawa fairing on the SX. I guess I will use this bike as they seem to have little resale and are immensely fun to ride. |

I’d love to have one but have seen several grenade on Facebook 1190 Owners Group. Mostly 14’s. Thicker cylinder walls seems to fix it but they are pricey and a lot of work. Valve adjustment looks to be involved too. Water pump leaks are common and require a ton of disassembly to get at it easily. Common for the clusters to fail and fuel senders to die. Idk, just me, I’ll wait until they are cheaper. I’d stroke if I wrang it out and it popped. I’d have a $7k paperweight with minimal support. They look absolutely awesome and the performance seems stellar. But as they say with any kind of gambling, if you can’t afford to lose it, don’t spend it. |

If you aren't willing to spend $7K on a super bike with better reliability than any $20K Ducati, thats up to you. I love mine, regardless of the noise made on Facebook. |
