Up for sale is my Buell M2L Cyclone. As you can see on the pictures, the bike is in great condition, well maintained and has been garaged the whole time. It has very low mileage (about 1400 miles on it) which is pretty remarkable and rare for a 2001 bike. This is a great American made sport bike like they don’t do anymore. It is fast and has a lot of torque. Perfect witness of Buell know-how and creative/unique engineering and design. It is equipped with a Supertrapp exhaust that gives a nice roaaarrrrr + few extra HP ($500 value) Also comes with a custom made Corbin leather saddle ($430 value) that matches the orange trim. Here the extras the bike will come with: - original owner manual - Full service and official factory manual (if you want to get your hand dirty: from a basic oil change to a full engine tear down …) - original Buell bike cover (+ an extra generic one) - original exhaust - original saddle - battery tender Whether you are a collector and want to keep it as is or make a really nice cafe racer out of it, this is the perfect bike for you. The only reason for me to sell it is that I am heading back to Europe soon and I cannot bring the bike along with me (even if I’m sure the bike would like the nice curves over there …) Asking $5800 OBRO for the bike and all the extras. Pickup preferred or Buyer takes care of all the shipping/extra costs. Feel free to contact me for any questions. If interested and fit is OK I might sell some of my gear as well during the trade (everything in great condition) Shoei Helmet RF1100 + another extra helmet Rev’it Ignition 3 season leather jacket Rev’it gloves

Looks to be in good shape. Using this one as reference. https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/mcy/d/2001-buel l-cyclone-m2-v1200cc/6632407902.html I'd offer $1900 Split the shipping? Let me know. Thanks. |

That thing is in perfect condition. Granted the asking price is steep for a Cyclone, but $1900 plus splitting the shipping is downright offensive and doesn't even warrant a response. |

Yeah it’s a $3800 bike to someone that’s looking for one IMO. |

I would have jumped at this Buell a year ago. I bought my X1 with 5,000 miles for $4250! SUPER CLEAN TOO!! I wanted a M2 but couldn't find one! |

In general I've seen a number of super low mile tubers for sale and I wonder if they're worth the extra money people ask. It seems to me that there must be deterioration due to age. In some cases brake and fork fluids have never been changed and the tires are old. What about things like seals, isolators, and the drive belt? And then there's the possibility of mechanical problems that never showed up because the bike wasn't ridden enough. With a bike that was ridden the flaw may have shown itself and been taken care of. When it comes to a 17 year old bike is it better to buy a high mileage bike that's been maintained, a cheap one and assume these things are going to need to be replaced anyway, or are the low mileage bikes really worth the extra? |

Engine seals will likely need replacing as no oil running through them. Still very clean bike just expect it will need work you can not see. I saw one with 3K miles for $3K about a year. Before I left CA there was a guy selling a 2000 M2 with less than 300 miles for $3k - should have bought that one. The owner rode it home and parked it. Then died some 15 years later. Usually these high priced bikes sit and they slowly come down in price if they actually want to sell the. (Message edited by mhlunsford on August 01, 2018) |

Engine seals aren't supposed to have "Oil running through them". If they do, that's when they need changing. Ambitious price, but my informal monitoring of the pricing situation reflects that tubers seem to be creeping up in price in California, anyway. I doubt that we will see a radical jump in pricing in my lifetime, but maybe we've seen the bottom of the pricing valley? However, I think the fact remains that almost everyone who actually wants a tuber now owns one or more... |

Tuber prices are not creeping up in Ca. Occasionally you get a dealer who took one in on trade and prices it right with their other HD bikes. In Ca. this bike will sell and I mean sell for $2500-3500 max. It is a nice bike no doubt and looks to be well cared for. But $5800? |

i have seen same bike with similar mileage go for 3K in CA and in GA. Folks with high prices just are not that eager to sell. |

Tuber prices are already on the rise. Won't be long before a mint low mile example such as this commands his price or more. Collectors are starting to notice the historic significance of the Buell Mo. Co. imho. |

Lornce, I appreciate your optimism. I wish that were only true about collectors. If you look about this site are you really seeing tuber prices on the rise? Just saying. |

Look at pre-H-D (pre-'94) Buell prices. They've been going up steadily. Quality examples of later tubers, especially pre-'99 (lower production number) S2's and S1's will follow. They already have in certain regions. From where I'm sitting it appears that a lot of US bikes have been trashed in the hands of younger and/or inexperienced owners. US prices seem to reflect that. The higher price of admission in other markets prevents that to some degree. European and Australian demand is robust. Canadian prices remain strong. The bike offered in his ad is an irreplaceable classic example in excellent condition. It should be priced accordingly until a knowledgeable and discerning buyer finds it. imho. |

I don't know about the pre-HD bikes but I'm not seeing much demand for S1's or S2's. I've been tracking tubers on craigslist for the last year. There were 74 S1's and 36 S2's listed. Sellers typically start asking in the high 3k's and end up in the mid 2k's before the ad disappears. Here's a really nice S2 outside of the Chicago area that's been listed since March of last year. https://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/mcy/d/original- 1995-buell-s2-thunderbolt-1203/6788012245.html The seller recently listed the bike on eBay and the best bid was $2225. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-Buell-Thunderbolt/22 3313209429?hash=item33fe812855:g:sRIAAOSwsftcMTiG& vxp=mtr Here's another one in Raleigh, not as nice but still nice, asking $2500. https://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/d/raleigh-1995- harley-buell/6792876783.html But the one that really gets me is this S1W in Texas with 4K miles for $2900. https://easttexas.craigslist.org/mcy/d/longview-bu ell/6778981475.html It's been listed since October. IMHO if Buells were collectable these bikes would be gone. The other thing I noticed is when I look at top 5 or top 10 lists for future collectables (and there are a lot of them) I never see Buell mentioned. I love my Buells, but I think of them as a rider's bike, not a collector's bike. |

Give it time. $1,400 R69S's are now worth $18,000+. $3,000 750SFC's are now worth $35,000+. $1,000 750GT's are now worth $30,000+. More Buell specific, a few years ago selling a '96 S1 I had a guy in Australia seriously consider the $6,000 frieght charge. (Message edited by Lornce on January 20, 2019) |

A Suzuki GT 750 is no more than 10.000 € in best condition. At least here in Germany.. Or which GT 750 do you mean for 30.000 $ ? |

We shall see . . . . I have, perhaps, one of the rarest and most interesting . . . at least it should be . . Buells and it's not worth enough . . . at least, in terms of potential sales price, to sell and get an airline ticket from NY to LA. But . . to me . . . the memories are priceless and I hope to revive that $10,000 motor and have some fun someday. Very few Buells have the history this one does. The subject X1 surely represented something to somebody. I>t may have been (I didn't look) a zero mile "box bike" like a fellow Badwebber bought. In fact, I'd say the most valuable Buell I am currently aware of is a red S1 Lightning sitting in Long Island, NY. Basically a crate bike. The X1 **MAY** (this is pure speculation) have had a special resonance with an individual. I, for example, have more guitars than any sane person should and am in the process of building the world's largest guitar case . . . when I found a 1965 Gibson single pickup Melody Maker with a vibrato bar . . my first guitar . . . I knew it was pretty much worthless but I was willing to pay a King's ransom to rekindle that old memory. I am about to do the same with a Gibson ES-175. Who knows what moves passionate people but . . I just watched Jeff Bezos give up about $77,000,000,000 for an ugly piece of ass . . . so I'll pretty much believe anything. |

Looks like the buyer is trying to flip it, it’s the same one from the mecum auction. Looking at the photos on the mecum site the right side headlight bracket has peeling paint on the upper bolt area, just like the one on Craigslist. Also still has the mecum license plate on it!
