1998 Buell S1 Lightning Built By: 333 Performance of Taylor, MI 48180 - Fresh 90CI / 1460CC Engine - Fresh 5spd Transmission - Dyno time and one race since rebuild - 125hp, 100fp torque, 13:1 compression - Runs consistent 10's in the quarter mile I have enough extra parts to almost build a second bike, including an extra frame assembly that we can negotiate a price for as well. Bike has too many parts and modifications to list. Serious inquiries can call directly for details. Call only, no texts, no Emails. Short YouTube clip of the break in runs we made at Milan in October: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-masq5S0rc4 Keep in mind that to recreate this gem today, along with all of the "extras" would run north of 50k. This bike needs nothing but a new rider. Call Shawn @ 333 Performance: Tuesdays thru Fridays from 10am until 6pm (734) 934-1652 Pics can be seen in our Craigs List ad https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/mcy/d/1998-buel l-s1-lightning-drag/6591315073.html |

That means it would cost more than fifty thousand dollars to replicate. |

I can read. Was more interested in the accounting of the project, not snarky replies from a$$holes...... |

DIEM24... getting an s1 in great condition would cost you some decent money. There's the first step. Now pulling the engine out. Buying a 90 cube kit, boring cases and machining would cost you a good chunk of change as well as head work that needs to be done, custom made exhaust for the bike includes bending and welding. So I'm assuming this is going to be close to 50k in parts and machining as well as assembly if you aren't inclined to do yourself. ALSO not to mention the Dyno time tuning. If you have ever priced out parts for a TUBER you know they are NOT CHEAP. YOU asked a question and you got an answer. NO ONE WILL KNOW THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION EXCEPT THE GUY THAT BUILT THE BIKE!! THERE IS A NUMBER TO CONTACT HIM IN HIS AD. Sorry Diem24, it's our busiest time at the year here at our shop and I generally only check forums weekly. I'll try and post pics here soon as well. In general, yes, to buy an S1 Lightning and do all of the mods we've done over the years would exceed 50k. Little details like removing the air bottle for the air shifter and using the frame as an air tank to reduce weigh is but one example. Serious buyers can call us at (734) 934-1652 Tue-Fri form 10am to 6pm EST or 10am to 4pm most Saturdays. (We close early one Sat per month to go racing) |

333.... I get it and i feel for you. Drag bikes are black holes that cash just gets sucked in only to never return. Its tough to stick 50k into an S1 but it sounds like youve extensively modded it and looks to run really well. I hope you get it sold to a good home for a good price on your end. |
