Ok I haven't had my X1 long but is this something I should have on hand?? I had an M2 years ago and never had any issues with it either. | ||

All honesty I am not sure. I know some have had thiers wear out and some lost them or our refitting the stock exhaust. They are a rare part and factory part is twice the price. So its up to you really. The later X1 I believe used the steal z bracket which were used on later models instead of these most likely a cost saving measure as the stainless parts are pricey. | ||

these are used to for the rear mount of the muffler instead of the z bracket... Buell did a funky mount. if you have access to a shop and material these are easy to make | ||

Not that easy to make out of 10 gauge stainless unless you have some the correct equipment. 24 gauge stainless will destry a small metal bandsaw blade in 4”. | ||

no need to use ss, no reason to over build. made mine with a piece of 1 x 3.5 stock and 4 1/4 bolts, washer, lock washer and nuts... I've put thousands of miles with this set up, these straps are much easier when mounting the muffler than the z bracket | ||

Thanks maiden 58 you have not even been registered for a year and you start off by criticizing? I have been building and helping people out on this forum for several years so dont attempt to jump on my post and talk down to me!?! Its not over built its built to match the factory part that was asked by others on the forum to be reproduced. So I built it to match the specs provided. If someone wants steel great if they want stainless made to spec they have an option. | ||

S1.. didn't know of the site, didn't need it... but as time has progressed and parts get hard to find, I signed on ... not talking down to you just letting others know there are options, I'm not offering to build or sell like you are, I'm not set up for that and there isn't enough money in it for me.. great you've been here for riders but don't let your head swell about it.. | ||

btw, I've had a X1 since 2003, that one is a parts bike now. fixed up another for a friend that wanted one.. it's all about getting out, riding and enjoying them. | ||

No big head. I just don’t appreciate someone coming on my forsale tgread and basically saying youall dont need this its over built. And if youve studied up on the forum you woyld know most of us will give the shirts off our backs for one another. After material, a case of beer to my water jet guy, my time and shipping I break even. Nuff said. | ||
