Author Message   Fb1 Posted on Thursday, March 08, 2018 - 05:56 am:        I've decided to go a different route on my Heritage and put this Mikuni HSR42 Easy Kit #42-18 for Evo and Twin Cam Harleys up for sale. According to Mikuni: - Fits all carbed Twin Cam 88/95ci and 1340 Evo from 1990 through 2006 - Not for use with stock plastic air box - Redesigned 42mm smoothbore carburetor - Installs quickly using stock throttle cables - Allows engine to reach full power potential - Instant throttle response, together with improved rider throttle control - Proven adjustable accelerator pump system - Good gas mileage, years of dependable service - Compact design, tucks in like stock carburetor - Simple bolt-on application with instructions Purchased in late January for $270, have maybe 100 miles on the carb. Includes everything as seen in the pix below. Smoothbore, i.e., no butterfly - the slide is mechanical (controlled by the throttle cables), instead of vacuum, and is reported to flow 25% more air than a Keihin CV carb w/butterfly as a result. Easily externally-adjustable idle/pilot air bleed screw. The accelerator pump nozzle is easily externally-adjustable (via set screws) for timing and duration. The direction of the accelerator pump stream is also easily externally-adjustable. Easily externally-adjustable idle speed cable, with thumbwheel. Does not include choke/enrichener cable - uses stock H-D cable or new Mikuni cable (not provided), but does include the Mikuni brass starter (enrichener) plunger and spring (which must be used with either stock H-D or new Mikuni cable). Has vacuum port on back of carb for VOES or vacuum-controlled petcock feed, includes vacuum cap if not using this port. The fuel inlet fitting pivots, to accomodate different angles of approach with the fuel line. The float bowl has a drain plug on the bottom for easy draining, and the main jet, main jet extender and needle jet are easily accessible through the drain plug hole without having to remove the float bowl. Includes adapter, o-ring and gasket to mount air filter backing plate to carb. Air filter assembly (including element) not included. Includes complete installation instructions, exploded view and part numbers, and excellent tuning manual. Includes throttle cable lube, 2 stainless steel USA-made hose clamps, and "mileage" pilot jet and accelerator pump nozzle kit. BWB price: $225.00 shipped, CONUS only.
