I named this bike Marilyn because she's a sexy curvy blonde bombshell with a ton of attitude. A little back story....this bike is titled as a 1198 S1W. The VIN is correct for that model. I bought the rolling chassis from a guy in Texas during the chopper craze in the early 2000's. At the time, I had two '98 S3T bikes. I was in the process of converting one into a S1W clone. So I decided to take the 98 engine out of the S3T and put it into the S1W chassis. But before just slapping the engine in the frame, I decided to do a little customizing. I had the frame sandblasted and recoated. The top end of the engine was pulled out and rebuilt. The cylinders are .1 over with the work done at Appleton H-D. The heads were done at Hoban Bros. (famous for their Buell race bike builds). All the gaskets were replaced with metal Cometic gaskets. I do believe the current stator is shot. I have a NIB replacement that I haven't had time to install. Otherwise the bike is mechanically perfect. Next step was to add a bunch of goodies: Crossroads Bars (powdercoated white) Banke frame brace (powdercoated white) Storz steering damper RARE Daytona BOSS 2.5" exhaust (not pictured) Buell Pro Series Grips Crane single fire ignition Buell Pro Series Plug Wires Buell Pro Series Race Fork Springs EBC front brake rotor Cylinders bored .1 over at Appleton H-D New pistons and rings (less than 3k miles) New valves and seats (done at Hoban Bros) Barnett stainless steel clutch cable (not pictured) Rear pulley was put on a diet to lose a few pounds and then powdercoated white
I have more pictures but I don't have the time right now to compress them. awinefan at hotmail for more info or questions. (Message edited by lake_bueller on July 11, 2017) |

It's been awhile since I originally posted. The electrical gremlin was fixed (bad stator rotor). I also have the stock bars that I'll include. For an additional $100, I have a set of Buell factory rear sets that are missing the hardware. November price drop to $4000. Trying to make some room for another bike to go a different direction. My 50 y/o body doesn't like the ergo on Marilyn. |

Brent...I have two vehicle passions: Buells and Land Rovers. I've learned over the years that you need to have at least 2-3 of each. Because there is always one of them that needs repair |

I might be able to get it closer next spring/early summer. Tentatively planning a trip to the Deals Gap area. |
