I think the upper hole with the wire through may be for the IAT, but I am basing this off a the last time I looked that closely at mine which has been a while.   Rtlll Posted on Thursday, February 02, 2017 - 11:17 pm:        Airbox came from a 2000 S3 with FI. Mounting appears to be identical to the Carbureted unit, so this should fit either FI or Carb. Happy to answer any additional questions you have. I still have mine on from when I converted from FI to carb, I also did the XB rocker box conversion at the same time and I just filled the unused IAT and breather line holes with plugs.
