Well you did not have a shipping mishap. That he took as reason to not pay me anything. He did not after receiving the package contact or answer any test emails or call. The only time he would call was to bitch about what I said on badwebb. He refuses to pay me for parts worth well more than I asked for them. He has some twisted version that he deserves all the parts for the over shipping cost. That in reality was just about 1/3 of what I asked for the parts. |

Also I was the one trying to resolve this without any further cause. He ignored my offers and just wanted to blow things out of proportion so that he could blame me for his aggravations. I think he a thief for not paying me. And he has no integrity or honor. Regardless of his great past with all of you or whoevr |

Odd, I've both bought and sold stuff to Chris and not once had any problems. Communication was good, I have no complaints. |

If you would have put this much energy into answering email inquiries to those that were interested in the crap you were selling you probably would have sold it ALL by now. I still have not received any refund or payment for return shipping. I am waiting a month at this point. It is ALL on you crack head!! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 780330.html?1456964150 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 777697.html?1457839667 |

I've sent parts to K12 in good faith, he paid for them. Everyone needs to understand people on both sides work and they live almost far away as possible in the USA... I have trouble shipping sometimes too but it doesn't take a month to let people know that. Figure it out like adults guys |

KYPILOT I don't trust you to send the stuff if I were to pay the return plus You are not being the Guy these guys are talking about. In fact just like I said you are only responding to save face. For not paying. You are thief. And have not talked directly to me about any solutions just asinine costs I have to make to get my parts back. You obviously want the parts. And are making high demands to keep them. You are a Thief. Karma will find you soon. |

Banning is not the answer... He sent the parts, they arrived. I think people expect things to be done & when they aren't done the way they wanted it to be done... they blame others. There's fault on both sides. No one should be providing a shipping account. You wrote a blank check of sorts by doing that. Provide a label maybe once it's boxed & dimensions are attained. but don't expect someone to be able to ship large parts 3,000 miles cheaply. There's fault on both sides, agree to talk with each other at a certain time (make time) & figure it out privately. This whole situation is dumb. |

Had no issue with k12pilot in previous transactions myself. I know I can be slow to ship sometimes, but communication is all it takes. He's a good guy, and if you articulate your reasoning a bit better, perhaps badweb wouldn't jump down your throat. |

Jrobey7 has a great point, I bought something once here and provided my shipping account, something happened during the process and also received a large box with a 2nd day air charge to it. I learned that I would send a shipping label next time I tried to do something like that. Unfortunately, I considered most of that to be my fault and just thought that my initial great deal just turned out to be a deal. hopefully everything can be worked out. |

I've been taken advantage of in shipping charges before on ebay. $45 to ship a $30 GPS mount from Canada. I was mad. My conclusion was: 1) Shame on me for not pinning down the shipping costs before agreeing on the deal. 2) Shame on them for gouging, and I won't buy from them again. I didn't go to ebay and dispute the transaction, it was ultimately my fault for either not finding their shipping cost disclosure, or for agreeing to a deal that included an undefined shipping amount. (Just my opinion, FWIW. These kinds of discussions are useful for shining a light on community norms and expectations for commerce, and how not to be rude about how we interact with each other.) |

Hahahahah . . . . I did get carried away in the VERY early days of eBay (like their first year) when I bought a VOX Wah-Wah pedal and it didn't arrive. Keep e-mailing. Finally got a snotty reply from 2 high school kids telling me I'd been "fooled". The one who wrote the e-mail was surprised when the Sheriff served papers on his Mom and Dad (separately as they were divorced) the following day. Since then . . . . I've come to take responsibility for my own stupidity in regard to internet dealings. But . . . through the years . . . I've dealt with K12Pilot on more things than you can imagine and have never met a more honest and square dealer. |

Moderating is hard. We are a community, kind of a family, and while public and transparent discussions are uncomfortable and tedious. So I tend to let the board have them, but try and keep the direction positive and productive. If you just quash a thread, you have to figure out who to quash. Kind of a "first do no harm" restraint on action. When in doubt, let ride. I don't know the facts in this case, and in fact I don't even know any of the principals very well. So I tried to move the conversation forward, and pointed out that regardless of what other facts may be true, when I agreed to a deal with open ended shipping charges, I agreed to a deal with open ended shipping charges. If I feel like that was abused, I would probably try and work it out with them, and choose not to do business with them again if I was unsatisfied with the outcome, but that ultimately the responsibility was mine for committing to something that was undefined. If the shipping charges were in the range of sanity (even the high end), well, it is what it is. If we keep these discussion public, we can establish and communicate "normal and reasonable" expectations for ecommerce within our community, which is a really valuable thing for our community. Anyway, sorry about the moderating thoughts tangent. Nice to see Bomber resurfacing! |

Reep Moderating is like the worst part of parenting. You guys have always done a great job! Still riding (gonna run 1/3 of the TAT this summer, solo), still trying to figure out the important stuff, and cherishing the friends I've made through being a rider! |

This is the reason I never ship anything out before it is paid for. That way both the price for the item and the shipping is agreed on so as to avoid any issues like this. I know a lot of folks ship stuff to fellow badwebbers before it is paid for but to me that is a really bad idea. This incident is a perfect example as to why. |

I have never taken payment before shipping, but have agreed on the price as well as the shipping cost. I've never had an issue, either here or on other boards. I may, someday, but I'm not making the mortgage nut on my sales, and my karma can use the boost ;-} As always, YMMV. |

Negotiation by means of written word is very difficult, even for the best communicators. If a "face to face" is not an option, a good second is a phone call. I generally consider written word forms of resolution a last resort, not a first. |
