Sweet.....making a purchase? It certainly looked clean, just needs some TLC and to be ridden again. Can't wait to see some better pics if you end up getting it |

Cosmetically shes rough. Story is that the owner got sick about 6 years ago, and the bike sat under a cover sitting on a porch ever since. The owner recently passed away, so everything was handled by his brother. Most of the fasteners are rusted, some chips and scrapes in the paint, tires were severely dry rotted. It has a brand new battery and runs good from what I can tell at parking lot speeds, but the tires were so rotted I was afraid I'd end up getting killed going faster. I dropped it off at Danbury HD for some fresh fluids and a replacement to the brakeline which looked damaged. |

Chris, thank you I'll let you know. Many of the rubber bits like fork seals and tires were in really really bad shape, so Danbury is replacing those along with whatever else they find. I'm hoping they at least get it mechanically sound and safe, so I'll deal with the cosmetics later. I know I won't ever have it looking like a show bike, which is fine with me as I spend more time riding than cleaning, but I will have to figure out what of the rusted bits can be fixed. It has PM wheels that have surface rust, same with the Vance and Hines and the shock. It does look like it has some minor rash on the right side, mostly on the bread box which was painted to match the bodywork. It doesn't have the left hand side part of the airbox, so I'll probably look into acquiring one of those. It sounds great, and felt good with the motor and trans, but the brakes and tires are mush. I'll post my pictures in a bit, I just need to make sure everything uploaded to the cloud. |
