I have a 1999 X1 Lightning Carbon Fiber Extreme (CFE) Factory Limited Edition (#173 of 250) which I bought new in July 1999. It is in perfect original condition. The blue weave thread carbon fiber is flawless. It has always been covered in my garage unless I was riding it. I did install a Corbin seat after a few hundred miles and have the original seat available. All recalls were completed. New tires and new battery. Bike has less than 6300 miles. I only put a few miles on it a month. I had to replace the voltage regulator. Other than that the bike has not had any issues. I posted it before because financial advisor wants me to sell one of my bikes. So to pacify her I’ll list it again. Here are pics I just took: http://www.barbarian-cbx.com/id132.htm I think $11,999 is a fair price. If you want to make an offer, please email me at : mlsanger@gmail.com It won’t break my heart , if I have to keep it. |

Well, now that your financial advisor has seen that you posted it for sale, I think you're good to go . Well played. |

If she sees this thread, I'm busted. It's best that I just tell her it's posted. |

Just tell her you posted it and she will be happy. I think ...... Unless your asking price approaches what bikes sell for ..... You're safe well into retirement. Like you ......mi have a VERY unique and special Buell that I think is valuable. But, reality being that the selling price would be about 40% of the price of the motor ..... I'm keeping it ....into retirement ..... Just to start twice a year and hear what 111rwhp sounds like. :-) |

I think a new buyer would appreciate that new rear tire broken in. I would put several hundred miles on it soon. |

Both tires are new. Going to take your advise and put a few miles on it this weekend. |

Beautiful Bike. 99 X1 Carbon Kevlar edition and a 1190rs carbon edition are some of the most gorgeous bikes! |

Oh yes, the 1190RS Carbon Edition. It's one of my favorites. At 175hp it's a wee bit faster than my '99 X1. LOL |

Had to put a couple more miles on it this week to get the NC state inspection. I need to sell this bike. Price drop, $11,900. If I don’t get any offers by 1/1/16, I'm going to withdraw it and tell financial advisor I got no offers and will post it again in a couple of years. |

No, sorry, I really appreciate your offer, but I just can't take that big of a hit. (Message edited by X1carbon on March 20, 2016) |

Is the "financial advisor" buying any of this chicanery? If so...... She's likely a great wife yet has a lot to learn as a "financial advisor". I'm going to try this logic with my $15,000 S2. |

Being serious for a moment, There is a real financial advisor and she does want me to sell one of my bikes. My wifey also wants it sold. They bring up selling a bike about every couple of years or so. I keep them informed about these posts as I feel necessary, if you know what I mean. |

Well ... Mine is not for sale. It was the first Buell in most of the 48 contiguous states ..... Places like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Deal's Gap, the Grand Canyon, Rodeo Drive, The 17 Mile Drive, Pike's Peak, Mt. Saint Helens and so forth. In addition .... It's sporting a blueprinted motor thumping out 111RWHP that would set you back the better part of 10k....if you get get Ron Dickey to make you a set of custom cylinders too. But ..... I'm aware that to sell it.....id have to let it go for something on the order of $3,500 ..... It's just the reality of the Buell resale market. I've been around it for going on 30 years and, with the exception of a friends wo sold his Buell for $25,000 last year, most don't command any tangible value from sentimental value and there are very few "scarce" Buells. Time may change that. |

Yep. I know. I got an offer for 3900 a couple of years ago which was probably a very good offer. I just can't sell it. I'll just keep it nice and put a few miles on it every month. |

Just joined the forum after trying to get a feel for the value on these CFE bikes. I have #181 with 4400 miles. Excellent shape, but not as perfect as X1Carbon's. I paid $5400 for the bike in 2012 with 3300 miles on it. Just fixed the fuel pressure regulator and am excited to have her back on the road. At this point though I'm going to ride the bike. I just don't see the value going up. |

I'm sure I'd ride mine much more if I didn't have a zx12r to ride. |
