I have acquired a 1997 Orange on white Lightning. This was purchased from a Harley dealer in Kokomo Indiana pretty much as it sits. I believe the dealer added the carbon fiber rear and a Vance and Hines exhaust and carbon air cleaner. I picked tis up from the original owner and he said it was the way he bought it. He had a different header and exhaust but I still have the Vance and Hines. The bike only has just over 3,000 original miles. I am considering selling, if you have interested contact me.

Interesting bike. It looks like the tank is not original to 97. I don't believe the larger "manta" tank was available on the S1 until 98. And it doesn't have decals from that year either. But it has an unmolested rear fender and original rear shock.
